To my surprise, her face fell, and a huge frown settled above her grief-filled eyes. “I... I suppose so. I’ve been given a hotel room, but I still don’t know how long I’m allowed to stay there.”

She looked away, and something twisted in me. It sucked seeing her like this. “I’m sorry for upsetting you,” I said, wishing I could comfort her somehow.

She shook her head, smiling slightly at me, but her smile didn’t reach her eyes. “No, you didn’t upset me at all. It’s just that everything happened so fast, you know? One moment my grandmother and I were struggling with life, and the next we lost everything. I got separated from her for the first time, and I love her so much. I’m worried about her, but what worries me the most is that I don’t know what to do now. I don’t have any job, and I’m unsure of my next step.”

I had no idea what to tell her, yet there were so many things I wanted to say. I wanted to erase her sorrow and help her overcome her obstacles, which was a total surprise for me, since I didn’t even know the girl.

“I’m so sorry, Bree. You shouldn’t deal with all of that on your own.”

She finally looked at me. “No, no, no. Don’t be sorry! I should be sorry for babbling like that. Seriously, what’s wrong with me? I don’t even know you, but I managed to blurt out all those things... I’m sorry.”

This time I couldn’t stop myself from taking her hand. It was unusually cold, and I wrapped my fingers around the silk of her skin.

“Don’t apologize for that. Don’t worry about it. I just wish I could do something to help you.”

Her eyes widened, fixed on our connected hands. “No, that’s absolutely out of the question. I can handle this.”

Why wouldn’t she look at me? “Okay. I can understand that. Then how about dinner?”

She snapped her eyes at me. “Dinner?”

“Yes. I would like to invite you over to my place tonight, if you’re up for it. I could make dinner for you. It would be a good opportunity to get to know you better.”

She didn’t answer immediately, biting her lip as if she was thinking about something. Damn. She was so sexy when she bit her lip. I wished I could bite it too. I almost groaned, starving for her.

“I won’t poison you or anything like that, if you’re worrying about it. I’m a good cook.”

“Oh, I’m not worried about that at all. I would actually like to try your dishes.” And I would like to try your dessert, sweetie. I would like to feast on your pussy while you scream my name...My cock was so hard now that I could barely stand it.

“Is that a yes?”

“Yes. I’ll come to your place tonight.”

Yeah! This was going to be good. “Great. How about eight?”

“Eight is fine.”

“Do you eat seafood?”

“I love seafood.”

“Nice. Seafood is one of my favorite dishes.”

“How long have you liked to cook?”

“Since I was a teenager. My mother insisted on teaching me how to cook, and I have to admit that at first I was completely against it.”

“What changed?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know. One day I made my first meal ever, and I fell in love with cooking. I’ve cooked ever since.”

“That’s nice. I never met a guy who cooked before.”

“So that’s one point for me.”

“I didn’t know you were trying to score.” She was flirting with me, her hooded eyes crossing over my chest and crotch slowly, and I shifted on my feet. Her eyes stopped on my dick, and I realized the pants did a lousy job of keeping my erection a secret.

“Did I manage to?” My voice was seductive, and I let myself take her hand again, this time moving my thumb over her palm slowly, causing her to tremble. So I wasn’t the only one affected here, hmm?
