“That’s chopping, not cooking,” Luke noted. “Jesse, this is my mother.”

“Hello. I’ve heard a lot about you.” She approached him with her hand out.

Jesse shook it, “I’ve heard a lot about you, too, Mrs. Rossovich.”

“Oh, please, call me Stephanie.”

“Okay. Stephanie.” Jesse flushed and ran his fingers through his hair.

Luke had to take a deep breath himself and remember that everything was fine, that his mother wouldn’t be judging them. It was surreal to be standing in his kitchen with his mother and his lover. He never thought the day would come. “Mom, can you stay for lunch?”

“Oh, no, I was just passing by. I don’t want to intrude.”

Rolling his eyes, Luke asked, “Since when?”

They all laughed, and Luke went back to making sandwiches before Stephanie shooed him away and finished them herself.

“Your mom is really cool.” Jesse’s head was on Luke’s chest as they lounged on the couch later that night watching TV.

“Yeah, I guess she is.”

“Do you think she likes me?”

“Yes.”

Jesse raised his head. “How can you be so sure?”

“Because she told me when I walked her to her car.”

“Really? What did she say?”

“That you seemed like a very nice young man.”

“That’s all?”

“And that you had a nice ass.”

Jesse smacked Luke’s stomach. “She did not!”

“Oh, wait, maybe that was Aaron.” Luke tried not to laugh but failed.

“Very funny.” Jesse settled down again, his hair tickling Luke’s chin. “Did he really say that? About my ass?”

“Aren’t we the little egotist?”

“Well, I did score the hottest guy on the ATP tour.” Jesse grinned. “Well, one of the hottest.”

“Oh, that’s it.” Luke rolled Jesse off the couch onto the carpeted floor, following close behind. He pressed his body down on top of Jesse’s and pinned his arms. “One of the hottest? The Association of Tennis Professionals has no hotter player. Who the hell’s hotter than I am? And if you say Koehler, you’re history.”

Jesse couldn’t seem to keep a straight face. “Okay, I won’t say Koehler. But Grankvist is pretty smokin’. Not to mention Scattergood.”

“Scattergood? That Aussie himbo can’t string together two sentences.”

“I’m not interested in his vocabulary, Luke.” Jesse waggled his eyebrows.

Luke shut him up with a kiss, and it didn’t take long before they were pulling at their clothes, reaching for bare skin. Luke licked his way down Jesse’s body, stopping to suck his nipples until Jesse moaned and bucked his hips up.

As he bypassed Jesse’s cock and moved down his legs, Jesse groaned in frustration. “Luke, come on.”

“Oh, I’m sorry. Did you want something?” Luke looked up from where his head rested on Jesse’s inner thigh.

“You know what I want.”

“Say it.”

Jesse’s fingers twisted in Luke’s hair. “I want you to suck me.” He licked his lips, adding, “And I want to suck you, too.”

A shot of adrenaline went right to Luke’s dick and he swiped his tongue up towards Jesse’s cock. Shimmying around on the carpet until they were in the right position, he took Jesse into his mouth. Jesse started licking too, his tongue sliding up and down the ridge of Luke’s shaft.

Soon they were both licking and sucking with abandon, and Luke was overwhelmed with sensations—the taste of Jesse in his mouth and the incredible feeling of Jesse swallowing him deeper and deeper, quickly getting the hang of it. Luke cradled Jesse’s balls in his hand, massaging them lightly. He felt rather than heard Jesse’s gasp of pleasure and before long, Jesse was shooting into his mouth.

Luke swallowed and when Jesse mimicked him, rolling Luke’s balls in his hand, he went over the edge. They both caught their breath and eventually, Jesse shifted around until they were facing each other again. They kissed lazily, tongues tangy and salty.

“You still think I’m not the hottest guy on the tour?”

Jesse pondered it. “Hmm. Well, you might have some competition from me.”

“Yeah, I just might,” Luke agreed, pulling Jesse into his arms once more.

The next morning, Luke decided to go down early and cook up some breakfast. Jesse was fast asleep when he crept out of bed, and Luke didn’t want to wake him. He hummed under his breath while he fried up some eggs and bacon. To hell with the diet for one day.

Back upstairs, Luke nudged open the bedroom door with his shoulder, a tray laden with food in his hands. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw that Jesse was awake. Not only awake, but looking through the contents of the bottom drawer of Luke’s bedside table.

Luke’s throat went dry. He kept all the important things in there—things from before. Pictures, notes, mementos. All the memories of Nik that he could hold on to.

He must have made a sound, because Jesse suddenly looked up and dropped the photos he was holding as if they were on fire.

“Luke!” He scrambled up. “I wasn’t…I was just …”

“Looking through my things?” Luke’s jaw clenched. He had no right.
