“Um, okay. How’s it going?”

“It’s fine. You know, getting ready for the Open.” Luke felt ridiculous. “Look, it’s late, I won’t keep you.”

“No, wait!” Jesse cleared his throat. “It’s good to talk to you. It’s weird how I see you, but it’s as if you might as well be a million miles away. You know?”

Luke knew just what he meant. “It was your choice, Jesse. Anytime you want to see reason, I’ll be here.”

Jesse squared his shoulders and the warmth was gone from his voice. “Right. Forget I said anything.”

God, he looked beautiful when he was determined.

“What?”

“What?” Luke suddenly had the sinking sensation that he’d spoken his thought aloud.

“You said…you said I looked…” Jesse glanced around, his eyes flicking over all the vehicles. “Are you watching me?” He didn’t seem to notice Luke’s black SUV, but it wasn’t surprising since there were so many in the lot.

“Yeah, I’m watching you.”

“Where are you?” Jesse was still looking.

“Around.”

“Oh, so you’re stalking me now?” Jesse half laughed.

“Maybe I am,” Luke teased. “And you look hot when you’re half scared.”

“Oh, shut the hell up!” He was fully laughing now, and Luke loved the sound.

“You really do look hot. Good enough to eat.”

He could hear Jesse swallow hard. “Stop it. I’m hanging up.”

“I would strip you down and bend you over the hood of that car, and the metal would be hot against your bare skin, after being in the sun all day. But my tongue in your ass would be even hotter. I’d eat you until your cock was hard and leaking.”

Jesse leaned against the car door and took a shuddering breath. “What else would you do?” he whispered.

“I’d turn you over and spread your legs wide, suck your cock while my fingers played in your hole.” As he spoke, Luke stroked himself through his jeans. “I’d make you beg me to fuck you.”

Jesse was breathing hard and then he was out of sight, the car door closing behind him. “I would, you know. Beg you.”

Luke bit back a groan and unzipped his pants, his hand stroking his hot, hard flesh. “You want me to pound your tight little ass?”

“Yes. God, yes.”

“Can you feel me? I’m inside you, and the heat is almost too much. It’s just skin on skin.”

“Yes, I feel you,” Jesse panted.

“Your legs are up on my shoulders and you’re wide open for me.” Luke closed his eyes, imagining it in his mind.

“Fuck me. Fuck me harder.”

Luke’s hand moved rapidly on his cock and he knew Jesse did the same. “I’m going to come inside you; I’m going to spill in your hot ass.”

“Do it, Luke. Fuck me, come inside me, don’t ever leave.” Then with a strangled cry, he came.

At the sound of Jesse’s orgasm, Luke’s balls tightened and he tugged once more before he spurted on his hand. He milked himself, and both he and Jesse tried to catch their breath.

“I miss you so much,” Jesse muttered.

Luke swallowed, hard. “I miss you, too.” When Jesse didn’t say anything, he added, “It doesn’t have to be like this. Come back to my place. Let me do all those things for real.”

It sounded like Jesse whimpered, but Luke couldn’t be sure. “And tomorrow?”

“Let’s not worry about tomorrow. Not now.”

“I wish it was that easy. God, I wish it was. But tomorrow will come, Luke. And we’ll still be in the same place we are now.”

“We don’t have to be. If you’d just be reasonable—”

“Reasonable? I’ve been very reasonable.”

Luke’s jaw set. “No, you’ve been very young. Very naïve.”

“Fuck you. Don’t treat me as if I’m some stupid kid who doesn’t know what he’s doing. Who doesn’t know what he wants. Because I do.”

“What you want is a dream world that doesn’t exist!”

For a few moments, Luke could hear Jesse’s uneven breathing. Then the dial tone resonated in his ear and he watched Jesse peel out of the parking lot. Luke closed his eyes and leaned his head back. He wanted to follow but knew he couldn’t.

Toronto was hot and muggy, a preview of what New York would undoubtedly be like during the U.S. Open. When Luke arrived at the tennis center, he looked at the draw for the tournament, which was posted on a big board. He noted that Jesse’s name wasn’t listed. Jesse had played the week before at a tournament in Washington, and Luke knew it was to avoid him.

He should have been relieved, but he wasn’t. He hadn’t seen Jesse in a couple of weeks and now he wouldn’t see him again until the end of the month when the tennis world descended on New York City.

Mike had gotten through qualifying and the first round. When Luke saw him in the locker room, he tried to act normal. “Good match today.” His voice was a strange pitch and he winced.
