Sighing heavily, I admit, “I was a womanizer, Sofia—meaning I dated more than one at a time, which is why it’s important to me that you believe me when I say it’s only you. I don’t want or need anyone else now that I have you… God, I can’t stop thinking about you. For the first time in like ever, I’m distracted by a woman.” I laugh and kiss her forehead, tucking her head into my neck. “I haven’t done this before.”

“Done what?”

“Woken up in bed with a woman. Snuggled up with a woman in my arms and just talked, even though I’m hoping for morning sex before we move from the bed.”

Her hand starts to move suggestively downwards from my chest, but I capture it with my larger one. “Not yet. I want to enjoy just holding you for now.”

I feel her smile against my chest. “I’m really comfy right where I am. I seriously don’t want to move.”

“Then don’t. Stay with me all day and I can take you home for clothes if you need me to, although I’m partial to you wearing mine.” I grin and unable to resist her sweet upturned lips, I lean closer and kiss her. The kiss quickly becomes harder, more searching, and I find having a bare, soft, and warm Sofia climbing all over me, is hotter than car sex. Her breasts press against my chest and one of her legs slides between mine as she gets comfortable. I can’t control the hard throb of my erection as it’s cushioned against her stomach. She’s all soft and sweetness to my hard and darkness and I find she’s already become my addiction.

Her stomach lets out a loud growl, which stills us both until she starts laughing. “I guess you’re going to have to feed me soon.”

“Hmm, I like the sound of that. Cooking in my kitchen while you sit there looking sweet and innocent wearing one of my shirts—only one of my shirts.” I grin. “I like that idea a lot.”

“I can feel how much you like that idea.” Sofia sits up and throws the covers from the bed. Her small hand wraps around my pulsating erection and she slowly slides down. Having her sitting on me the way she is with her arms up and her hands in her hair, the way her breasts sway with each movement of her body, and most of all the way it feels having her stroking and cherishing me, is quickly bringing me to the brink of release.

“You look as delicious as I thought you would in my kitchen wearing my shirt.”

“I feel extremely exposed.”

“Feel free to expose yourself for my pleasure anytime.” Chuckling, I turn and can’t take the grin from my face.

Sofia has a way of making me feel different. She makes me feel like a different person—like someone who doesn’t have the weight of the world on my shoulders. It doesn’t help that I have both my mother and sister coming at me from different directions. Realistically, it should only be Monica as it’s her wedding, but unfortunately, mother wants to take it over.

“That’s a heavy sigh, what’s wrong?”

Leaning against the counter top, I let my gaze caress over Sofia. She looks so soft and comfortable, I just want to wrap my arms around her and have all my problems dissolve.

“I was thinking about my family, and how I’m tired of Monica and Mom being at each other’s throats over things that have already been organized. Mom loves interfering and now is no different.”

“You don’t have the same relationship with your mom as I do with mine.”

I shake my head. “She hasn’t always been around, and pretty much left me to raise Monica when I was twelve.” I shrug. “Dad was around for a couple of years after that, but then he died and we did everything we could to stay together. Mom only came back because she was forced to. Gradually she started moving on again when I was sixteen. By then I’d already shown a high aptitude with computers and programming. I sold my first game when I was seventeen.” Shaking my head, I lift Sofia from the chair and settle her on my lap, needing her close. “I didn’t tell anyone, but it meant that I could support Monica. As soon as she turned eighteen, and there was no way social services would interfere, I sold another game.”

Sofia kisses my cheek and holds my gaze as I continue, “I moved Monica and I to a real nice apartment, close to the school Monica wanted to go to. Of course, Mom showed up soon after realizing I had money. I said no…It wasn’t always easy to say no.” I sigh. “Anyway, now she’s married to a rich guy and thinks she has to act as a mother to Monica. I think she’s doing it because of him and not because she actually wants to be a Mom.” I kiss her shoulder and add, “Not that I’m psychoanalyzing myself, but I think how I’ve always been with women is more out of protection than anything else. You see, my Dad loved my Mom, and it destroyed him when she left.”

I offer a mi

rthless laugh. “Deep conversation for the morning.”

Sofia shakes her head. “No it isn’t. I was curious as to what shaped you into how you are today, so I now know, and it doesn’t change how I feel about you.”

My heart beats in panic before settling and I start feeling like I can handle being attached to Sofia. I mean I’ve already told her I want her for myself, so I was already there, I just hadn’t realized how there I am. “How do you feel about me?”

“I’m not sure you’re ready for me to tell you that.”

“I wasn’t sure either, until right now.”

Her fingers lightly caress my scalp and move down to my whiskered jaw. “I like you Shane. Not just the sexy smirk that twitches at your lips when you watch me, not just the way your thighs look in slacks, but the whole package. Your voice makes me want to drop my panties, but most of all I like being in your arms, like we are now. You just holding me makes me happy…you have the power to hurt me, Shane—very badly. Please don’t.”

I search her gaze and desperately want to promise her I won’t. Luckily, I’m saved from answering when Monica walks in still wearing her pajamas, a yawn at her lips. Her eyes widen the moment she spots us and they widen even more when it registers whom I’m with.

“Sofia,” she mumbles. “I had no idea you and…” she waves her hand around, “are, um…um, fucking.”

Sofia stiffens in my arms and I’m pissed at Monica for being so callous when she must know that Sofia means more to me than any other woman I’ve been with. I tighten my arms around Sofia, and between clenched teeth, I tell Monica, “We aren’t fucking. I don’t want to hear that term attached to what Sofia and I are doing. We’re in a relationship, which means she’ll be my guest at your wedding dinner, and wedding.”

“Oh.” Monica grabs juice out of the fridge and a bagel out of the breadbasket and disappears from the kitchen with that one word hanging over us.
