Love in Bloom (De La Fuente Family 3)

“Thank you,” she finally spoke. “It means a lot to me that you’d invite me after everything.”
Eric shook his head. “I’m glad my brother knew from the beginning that his anger shouldn’t be directed at you.”
Mateo sat back, but kept her in his arms, sitting on one of his rock hard thighs. “I’ll head back to Dallas with Erin after your wedding and find out what was going on. It’s over with now, but I won’t be able to rest until I know why.”
She’d had no idea that he’d planned to head to Dallas with her. Would that be the end of them, or would he want to spend time with her there? She hoped the latter, but had no clue whether he’d still be mixed up about her.
“I’m taking Sylvia into town.” Eric got to his feet and helped Sylvia up with him. “We’ll leave you to it.”
As Eric ushered Sylvia out of the kitchen she didn’t miss the smirk he directed at Mateo.
Once they were alone, she moved from Mateo’s knee and put some distance between them. His support around his family meant a lot to her but she wanted answers.
“Twice now you’ve been a hurtful dick after something happened between us and this morning…that was…it was…” She turned away when she wasn’t able to continue so he wouldn’t see her tears.
“Erin,” he whispered from behind her.
She couldn’t do that again, so she wiped her eyes and faced him. “Don’t Erin me. I’m still angry with you. You have no right to play with my emotions like you did.”
“I know.”
“That’s the second time and no way will there be a third.”
“That’s a pity.”
“So that being said, I’m going to find alternative accommodation because I’m not sharing a room with you anymore.”
“The hell you aren’t.”
“Now excuse me while I go and ask Kasey about local accommodation.” She ignored his argument and turned to the door, but didn’t get far when Mateo shoved it closed, trapping her between his large body and the door.
“You didn’t hear a thing I said did you?” He leaned in closer and turned her around in his arms.
“Did you hear what I said?” She could be stubborn when she so chose.
“Oh, I heard and I’m not listening. You’re not going anywhere. You’ll stay here with me.”
“What the hell has gotten into you? After this morning and your rush to get out of the bedroom, you have no right to tell me what to do.”
He dropped his forehead to Erin’s, his eyes locked with hers. “I’m sorry.” He sighed. “I seem to be saying that a lot lately. You have me upside down. There’s ten years between us, Erin, and that bothers me. You’re fresh and innocent, which is one hell of a package to tempt a guy with.” He slipped his hand to her waist and kept one to the side of her head, his fingers tangled with a curl. “This morning was hot beyond belief, but I was angry at myself for not stopping it. I woke up and you rubbing that wet pussy against my dick had all my common sense leaving me. As much as it kills me, I don’t want to take that innocence from you.”
She stepped in closer and let her body rub against his. He closed his eyes and she rubbed again when she felt the hardness beneath his zipper. “So,” she whispered close to his lips, his eyes snapped open and he watched the movement, “what you’re saying is that I’m too innocent to have your dick inside me, but yet I’m not too innocent to have you come all over me?”
“Fucking hell, Erin. I’m going to be taking you up against this door if you don’t stop teasing me like that.”
“I’m just saying that I might not have had sex before but I’m not that innocent. I mean, I’ve given a blowjob before.”
Mateo growled and pressed her up against the door. “You say blowjob as easily as someone else would offer coffee.”
“I wasn’t offering to blow you.”
Laughter behind Mateo froze them in place. Erin closed her eyes before she peered over Mateo’s shoulder.
Diego and Kasey had obviously just stepped into the kitchen because they were poised in the doorway while they alternated between laughing and coughing.
“Glad you cleared that up,” Diego commented, laughing.
“Can’t you see we’re trying to have a conversation here? A private one.” Mateo finally faced them and moved so that Erin could step around him.
