His lips find mine again and we kiss in lingering long strokes of tongue and taste. He crawls over me and I hook my legs around his back barely able to lock my ankles holding him in place.

“I don’t have a condom, but I’m clean.” He growls into my neck.

Pausing chagrinned I hadn’t thought that far ahead when I whisper in his ear feeling reckless, “I’m on the pill and I’m clean too.”

Jax cants his hips forward and pushes through my folds in one seamless stroke grunting when he bottoms out inside me.

“Fuck. Diana.” He says my name drawing out the last syllable sounding in pain. I flex my hips reveling in the stretch of my legs around his hips and the pressure of his length pressed high against my core.

“Jax. I want you. I want this.” I try to move but I can’t because he’s, well, Jax and pretty much immovable in this position. Our bodies grow slick and hot. He lets up enough so I can move touching him grinding my clit against him.

He kisses my neck with nipping bites panting. “Little Warrior, I want you but I can’t be….” He pauses, his head hanging down like he’s fighting with himself. I cup his face in my hand while I hold onto his shoulder with my other.

“Take me then. I’m yours. Give me your best, Hulk.” I lock my ankles around his hips and prepare for the ride of my life. Jaxon Holden doesn’t disappoint.

When I get to the hospital and see Diana sitting on the edge of the bed I nearly lose my shit. I wanted to find her ex and lay him out feeding him his teeth. She holds an ice pack against her cheek while a nurse pumps a blood pressure cuff.

“Blood pressure is a little high, but that’s to be expected.” The nurse smiles and offers her a pain pill which she refuses.

“Diana.” I storm past the chaos of the emergency room to her side and take the ice pack from her hand inspecting the damage myself.

“Jax.” Her voice is shaky and her anxiety apparent when she leans in to me shaking.

“What the hell happened?” I look at her face cupping her cheeks scanning her eyes for any lasting damage to her soul beside the large dark bruise forming over her cheekbone.

“You should see the other guy.” She winces.

“That is not even funny. Not for one second my little warrior.” I hug her to my chest careful that she might be hurt elsewhere. The need to feel her breath, body, and bones under my grasp keeps me rooted to the spot. If I thought I could get away with punching his head through a wall I’d do it without hesitation.

“Mommy!” I turn to see Maisy jump down from Milo’s arms running to us. I let go of Diana to catch her picking her up to crawl into her mother’s lap.

“Baby.” She hugs Maisy tight kissing her head.

“Are you hurt?”

“I’m okay. We’re okay.”

“You know Uncle Milo can put a band aide on it and make it all better.”

“I’m sure he can, but I only need hugs from you.”

I give them some space to connect and head out the door where Milo is clenching his fists.

“I swear to God.” He pacing the hallway.

“I’m with you on that. Can you tell me what happened?”

“Allen showed up at her office. Started making demands. Natalie called the police and Isaac pulled Allen off her as they were fighting. Your girl got some good kicks and punches in, he really does look like the shit his is. Piper got the call and I went to pick up Maisy at school.”

“That motherfucker. I’ll…”

“Easy, Hulk. Police arrested him and with those witnesses he’s not going anywhere. Go back in there with her. I’ll take Maisy home until she’s discharged and don’t do anything stupid. I’ve only got enough bail money stashed away for my wife.”

We give each other one of those bro-hugs and Maisy skips out with Milo as I prepare myself to go back in there. Diana’s words nearly break me. She thinks she’s broken. I think she’s my own personal superhero having survived more than I could ever imagine.
