The Nephilim attack the angels.
"Winning this is going to be a little harder than just shooting its head off," Heimdall says.
"The end is near," the devil bellows.
Locusts lift off of the massive body.
We are met with a strange silence. The calm before the storm.
Am I ready to take on the world's sins? Ask me that in ten seconds, and I'll give you a better answer.
Raven
Far above the world, everything is at peace. My wings penetrate the wind as I soar through the clouds. They are now a part of me, moving naturally like an arm or leg.
I am freer than I've ever been, and I have the eyesight of the angels. I can see for miles and miles at a time. The colors are more vibrant and beautiful than ever before.
It only took me getting killed to arrive here.
There is a lot of bad in the world, but the good stuff is everywhere. There are high mountains and flowing rivers, and blue oceans with depths that are just waiting to be explored.
I drop down to run the edges of my feathers along the water and see the firm noses of dolphins pop up to play.
They have no idea what terrible games the gods and devils are playing.
There are rolling hills and wild animals that make their homes in the center of mysterious forests. Cabins from the days of settlers barely stand, but the idea of freedom still remains.
I fly throughout all lands.
The ancient pyramids in the south. The rune stones of the north. The massive snake that is the Amazon River. I witness the tribes that watch over the crumbling ecosystem. I see it all and soak it in. The history of the world has always been at our feet, but we haven't answered the call of goodness.
I look at the world, not as a place to gain richness in material wealth or dominance in power. It is a place to learn about the transformative energy of love.
Now is our time to shine.
After I hear Ash's call, I snap out of my fun and get to business. It doesn't take me long to get to the border of the state. It takes me seconds to zip through the city.
I can't believe my eyes.
From above, the city looks like a smoldering wasteland. In the distance, the looming body of Beelzebub towers over the ocean. The angels stand guard over what looks to be the floating body of Lucifer. He is caught inside their energy beams, but they are being attacked.
Even he cannot control the evil he has unleashed.
I fly over the boardwalk and see a third angel swoop in. It looks to me and lets out a shriek before swinging around the dark red mass of Beelzebub.
A wall of fire surrounds Ash, Loki, and Heimdall. I race over it and land.
My wings fold as I hit the ground. A great energy surrounds me, a warmth of new power that comes directly from my love for this world. I am what Odin told me. I am special.
I am the devil's worst enemy.
My three sidekicks stare at me in wonder, and I can't help but smile. "What? Never seen an angel before?" I ask.
Heimdall falls to his knees. "You were the missing angel all along," he says.
Ash runs and lowers his blade into the sand. He throws his arms around me, and thankfully, I'm back in his world again. His scent, strong grip, and love send me to new heights.
I missed this.
