Devil With Benefits (Gods & Guardians)

"I miss them," I admit.
She nods, but she is still distant. "What if it's not over?" she asks.
The war between darkness and light.
"Lucifer is gone. It's over," I say.
She shakes her head. "That's not what I mean. I know Lucifer is gone, but the world remains unchanged. What if we didn't win? What if the gods are in trouble again?" she asks.
"Baby, I hate to do this, but you were the one who wanted out of this gods business. I don't think you can change your mind on this," I say.
Plus, she's pregnant. Not to mention, we both have careers now.
She simply continues. "And what about Thor? The more I think about what happened, the more questions remain unanswered."
"Thor?" I ask.
I vaguely remember hearing about Loki's adopted brother, but it is far too late to be talking about someone we haven't even met.
She opens her mouth, but is cut short by a dull knock on our door.
"Sit tight. I'll get it," I say.
But when I open the door, I only see a pile of snow. There is no one waiting for us. "That's odd," I mutter.
Raven hops off of the bed and sprints to the door. She looks down and gasps. "Look, it's a letter," she says.
I bite my tongue, praying to the heavens above that this isn't what I think it is.
Carefully tearing the edges of the envelope, she removes the card inside. On the front is a man with long hair. Next to him is a sly and sensual woman. The card reads:
Thor & Freya: The hammer of marriage is upon us, and you're invited!
"Oh, God," I sigh and close the door.
To my dismay, Raven's eyes are fixed on this card. "It wasn't just a dream," she says with a huge smile. "I bet Loki and Heimdall will be there!"
"Yeah," I say. "I mean, probably."
I just want my wife to be safe. She's nearly seven months pregnant, and this is starting to feel like the start to another adventure.
"Look here. It's taking place in some place called Asgard. Remember when Odin talked about it?" she asks.
I sit and sink back into my pillow. "I remember," I say.
"Well, we have to go. That much is clear," she says.
My heart sinks. "Baby, I don't think we'll have the time or money to do something that extravagant. Do they even have flights to Asgard?"
When she ignores me again, I get the hint. This is her thing, and I have no say in the matter. I'm going to have to travel to Asgard, drink tons of mead, and celebrate with a bunch of Norse gods.
...Okay, it doesn't sound that bad.
"There is to be no Jotunn allowed," she reads.
"What the hell is a Jotunn?" I ask.
"Beats me, but I want to find out!" she exclaims.
