First Comes Love - Page 211

Thinking back to what he asked earlier—what do I want—I suddenly want to tell him. I shift to face him on the seat, and his arm remains firmly around my waist.

“I wasn’t totally honest with you earlier,” I say, watching his expression closely.

“About what?” he responds, his voice cautious, overly casual.

“About what I want.”

He feigns shock. “What? You’re telling me you aren’t into biting after all? Because, Megan, if that’s the case…” He trails off, that teasing smirk firmly in place.

I shake my head, grinning. “No, I’m talking about the game.”

He sits and waits for me to continue.

“I’m not really looking for love.” I say it like a confession. “That’s just what Maya tells me to say for the cameras.”

He chuckles. “You mean you don’t think that you can go on a reality show and find true love?”

“You mock me, Madden, but you know as well as I do that Biggest Licker is definitely not about finding your one true love.”

“Maybe not,” he allows, “but I don’t think everyone is necessarily there for the same reason.”

“Like you?” I tease. “You’re just there to see how many virgins you can impale with that love rod of yours.”

He laughs for real at that, shaking his head. “Love rod, Megan?”

“Whatever you want to call that monster in your pants.”

A rakish grin takes over his face, and he leans in, wicked intent written all over his face. “Monster, huh? Is that why you ran off in such a hurry last night? Afraid I might use it to make you scream my name while you came all over it?”

I shift in my seat, all this talk about his cock making the pressure increase between my legs. I’m half afraid, half hopeful, that I could come just from the dirty things he’s been saying all night.

Then I realize he never answered my question. “Is that why you’re on the show?”

“To nail a bunch of virgins?” he scoffs. “That’s not it, Megan, even if that did happen. I just like to compete. I love a challenge. And you’re quite the challenge.” His eyes grow serious. “But you know what I want most of all?”

I shake my head, almost afraid to ask.

“You, Megan. I want you.”

I look away and bite my lip. God, I love hearing that come out of his mouth. He wants me. I want him too. So fucking bad.

“So, what do you want?” he asks, as if he can read my thoughts.

I give him my real answer this time. “I want to win. I didn’t come this far to lose at the very end.” I give him a firm look, hoping he gets what I’m trying to tell him. That if it weren’t for this stupid game holding me back, I might not be holding back. I might be doing all the wild and dirty things he wants me to. “That’s what I want, Madden. More than anything. I want to win.”

Madden leans in, his blue eyes different, not so full of humor like they always are as he stares into mine. He twirls a strand of my hair around his finger like he did earlier, looking like he’s deciding what he wants to say.

Then he smiles. “I’m a winner, Megan. If you’re going to place bets, you need to bet on me. Because I’m a winning bet. I promise you, there’s nothing I can’t buy you. Nothing that’s off limits. Nothing I won’t give you that you want or need.”

I don’t know what to say to that. He’s not usually this serious. But just as fast, he flips back to the Madden I’m used to. Wild and crazy and teasing and flirty. “You better believe I’ll give you everything you need.”

His meaning couldn’t be clearer.

Then before I know what’s happening, his hand is on my thigh, the other in my hair, pulling my face closer to his. He pauses an inch from my lips, his eyes searching mine, waiting for an indication of what I want him to do.

And all the desire he’s been building up in me all night with his naughty words comes to a head. I grip his shirt and lean in the remaining inch, crushing my lips to his.
