She shoves me back and climbs onto my lap so she can straddle me. “This okay?” she asks, as her lips touch the side of my neck. “No matter what happens, my panties aren’t coming off tonight,” she whispers in my ear.

“You want to just make out for a little while?” I ask, and she finally kisses me. I run my hands up her sides and wrap my arms around her so I can hold her close. I’ve had more than a few women in my arms, but none has ever felt this right. None has ever felt like mine.

“Sure,” she says. She starts to unbutton the dress she’s wearing. The tiny buttons slowly reveal a white silk bra with lace edges, which apparently matches her panties. “I bought this for you,” she says. “It’s new.”

“The dress?”

She shakes her head. “The bra and panties.”

“And the garter belt?”

“Especially that.”

She unbuttons the dress all the way until the front is completely open, and then she shrugs out of it. She sits on my lap, wearing nothing but a white bra and panties set, a matching white lacy garter belt with the sexy little hooks hanging down, a sultry grin, and a tattoo with my name on it. “They were worth whatever you paid for them.”

I reach around behind her and unhook the garter belt and toss it aside. Then I unhook her bra. She rounds her shoulders so that it falls forward, and then suddenly her breasts are in my face.

“You might have to take those panties off,” I warn as I bend and take a nipple into my mouth. It pebbles against my tongue, and I lick one nipple while I thumb the other turgid peak.

“Nope,” she says with a laugh. “My panties stay on.”

I grab her and lower her onto the sofa, and I cover her body with mine. I can’t get enough of her. “I am so in love with you,” I say close to her ear.

“Good, because if I’m going to own you, you had better have some pretty strong feelings for me in return.”

I rock my hips against her heat. “I got all sorts of strong feelings for you.”

“Do you want to take this to the bedroom?”

I sit up so I can look at her. “Do you?”

She grins. “Only if you want to.”

I nod. “I do want to.”

I wrap her arms around my neck and stand up with her clinging to me. I bounce her so that her legs wrap around my waist. “I don’t want you to feel like I’ve coerced you in any way.”

I walk toward the bedroom with her clinging to me. “I don’t feel coerced,” I tell her. “I’m going to kiss you all over of my own free will.”

She sucks on the side of my neck. But as we walk through the kitchen, her cell phone rings where it lies on the kitchen counter. “Wait,” she says as she taps my shoulder. “That’s my grandma’s ringtone.”

I look down at my watch and see that it’s almost midnight.

I let her down slowly, and she slides down my body until her bare feet hit the floor. “I have to get that,” she explains. “Grandma?” she says as she lifts the phone to her ear. She folds her other arm over her naked breasts, and I try to concentrate on looking at her face and not the rest of her—but of course she’s right there.

Her eyes meet mine as Ms. Markie starts to talk. Then she starts to blink. Then deflates a little and turns away from me, lowering her head. “Okay,” she whispers. “Okay,” she says again, and her voice cracks. “I’ll be right there. Just give me five minutes.”

She ends the call and clutches the phone to her chest. “What’s wrong?” I ask.

“My aunt Cathy died. My dad’s oldest sister. Did you ever meet her?”

“Maybe once or twice.” I can’t remember her though. “What happened?”

“She had a heart attack.” She sets the phone down on the counter. “I’m so sorry, Grady,” she says. “I have to go to Grandma. She wants me to take her to Aunt Cathy’s house.”

“Where’s that?”

“About ten hours from here,” she says. “But she wants to go. All the way to Florida.” She groans.
