“Name and address?”

Patch handed me a folder that contained a dossier on Leon—the brother of the trash Bear had taken care of the day before. “Lives in a fucking crack house, so we figured we’d call the cops and grab him when he tries to run.”

“Gotta go fix a mess from the last run. Let me know if you need anything,” Doc informed us before giving us a chin lift and walking out of the room.

I nodded and shut the folder, having read enough about the scumbag. “Why is he interested in Brynn? Thinks she offed his brother or something?”

Bear shrugged before answering. “Don’t know. Let’s ask him.”

“Let’s ride,” I growled.

The address we had for Leon was an old, dilapidated house in a suburb near town. Two blocks down from the fucking police station—the sheriff was gonna be pissed when he found out. Especially because missing something so obvious was a huge sign that one or more of his guys were on the take.

The windows of the house were either covered in dark curtains or boarded up, so it could easily have been mistaken for being abandoned if it weren’t for the plethora of cars parked in the driveway and on the street out front.

We rode by once to get a look at the place, then went around the block and parked our bikes in the lot attached to the police station. At first glance, it would give us an alibi, but if they dug deeper, they’d know we weren’t in the building at the time of the…event. But Silver Saints kept to a code, and while the sheriff wasn’t happy that we lived by our own law, he couldn’t fault our purpose or dispute that the town was safer with both of us protecting it. We’d even helped him out on occasion, and he’d returned the favor when needed.

I wasn’t happy about going after this guy in broad daylight, but I didn’t want to wait and chance losing him. Dom had called in the tip on the crack house, and after sending a patrol to verify, they’d called in backup, who were just leaving the station.

Patch and Bear split off from Dom and me, and we approached the house from different directions, meeting at the rear. As the police barricaded the front, we slipped into the house and were hit with the overpowering scent of ammonia and cat urine. From the noise in the front room, it sounded like someone had noticed the police and were scrambling to figure out what to do. The other rooms were empty, which meant less work subduing more assholes so we could get out clean.

We crept into a hallway, where I spotted the stairs to a second floor and silently pointed them out to my brothers. Bear and Patch stood guard at the bottom as Dom and I made our way up the rickety stairs. Intel put the guy in the first room on the left. Hopefully, he hadn’t joined the others downstairs, but my guess was that he wouldn’t wait around to be caught.

I was a little surprised we hadn’t come in to see him running down the stairs, but there was also the chance that he was stoned and possibly passed out. Dead weight was a bitch to deal with, but I preferred that to an asshole screaming like a little girl.

Luck was on our side because there was a bunch of shit in the room and two of the four mattresses had occupants. Leon wasn’t completely out, but he was barely coherent, so he didn’t protest when we pulled him to his feet, and I tossed him over my shoulder. The drugs had taken their toll on his body, leaving him nothing but skin and bones, which made him a lightweight for someone my size.

As we made our way down the steps, we heard the cops talking through a megaphone, warning us that we only had minutes to get gone. Bear and Patch led the way out, and we were almost to the back door when two high school–aged boys stepped out of another room. They were talking and hadn’t noticed us, so we slipped around the corner. However, their conversation stopped me in my tracks.

“My dad’s going to ship me off to fucking military school for this,” one boy snarled angrily.

“Leon thinks it was that chick he saw. But I bet it was that bitch, Alyssa, who called the cops. Always sticking her nose where it don’t belong.”

“Someone needs to teach her a fucking lesson.”

“I’ll teach her what a cock feels like before I shove a needle in her arm.”

“As long as I get a turn with that pussy before you fuck her up with drugs.”

One of the boys snickered. “We’ll fuck her up, alright. Might even—”

I’d heard enough, and though I was so fucking tempted to put Leon down and beat the fuck outta those little shits, they would have to be Bear’s problem.
