“Oh, I will be.” She wiggled back to the end of my knees, tipping me and the chair forward.

Quickly, I shifted so I took the brunt of the fall. My hip was cushioned by her rug, thankfully. She landed on me, and then she crawled right off to get to the damn ring.

I tried to catch her, but only ended up with a handful of plaid. I yanked it down her delectable hips to show off her milky white ass. “Luna,” I said with a sigh.

She sat cross-legged on the rug with the ring box in her hand. “Caleb.”

“You are the worst.”

She looked up at me, her eyes reddened with tears. “Is this what I think it is?”

I huffed out a laugh and tucked my very lonely cock back into my boxers. “Yes.”

She closed her hands over the box. “Can I see it?”

“Well, it is for you.” I shook my head as I made my way over to sit next to her. “You kinda ruined my plans.”

“Well, we’re already engaged. I asked you already.” She peered into the little cave she’d made with her hands. “But you got me a ring?”

“Of course I got you a ring. What do you take me for?”

“Well, I did the asking. I got you one, actually.”

“What?” My chest tightened. “You got me a ring?”

She nodded. “I know rings are weird for dudes, but I think you’ll like this one.”

She handed me the blue velvet box before she stood. Then she wiggled out of the skirt and darted into her room wearing only that damn white thong.

I laughed. The woman was going to be the death of me in the very best way.

She returned without bothering to put anything on. Her perfect breasts swayed enticingly, making me forget about the box in my hand.

She dropped in front of me and dragged her feet into her typical lotus pose. She held a black box. “I have plans for our actual wedding rings, but this will fit into it.”

I leaned forward until our foreheads touched. I wasn’t much of a jewelry guy, but I didn’t care what this thing was—I was wearing it.

For her. Always for her.

Tipping up her chin, I found more tears, but her beautiful mouth curved into a smile. “I love you more every day, Caleb.”

I pressed my lips to hers. “It’s only going to get better.” I knew she still had some reservations. With what her family put her through, I understood and accepted that. “You’re mine, and I’m yours now.” I dashed away her tears with my thumb.

She nodded and laid one hand on her tiny baby bump. “We’re yours.”

I covered her hand with my own. “I’m going to do my best to make sure you both know how loved you are every day.”

She blew out a slow breath. “I know and I will do the same.” She opened the small box and turned it around. The ring was black and thin. A channel of stones was set into the jet-black piece. “I wanted to make sure you wouldn’t think it was too hokey.”

“No matter what it is, I would wear it, but that is…wow.”

She grinned. “Yeah? It’s tungsten and I picked out specific crystals for protection, love, health, and to help us understand one another.”

The small stones were all in earth tones, and in between each was a black crystal. “Is that obsidian?”

&

nbsp; “Very good.” She took the ring out of the box and took my hand. “Fire agate to dispel fear and negativity, obsidian for protection, tiger’s eye for balance, emerald for love and harmony.” She slid it on my finger and murmured something.
