Beyond the Play (Out of Reach 3) - Page 80

When she runs her fingers through my hair, a sob breaks free from my chest. I battle against the tears that threaten to fall. Lifting my head, I look into her eyes, and I see it—the love we have for one another.

Fight for her.

“The moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were special. Every moment from that night forward, you proved that theory to be correct. I love you so much, Parker. I swear to you, baby. I’m not the man I was the night we met. You changed me. You’re the only woman I see. You’re all I think about, and it’s not just you, but our life together. Our future. I want all your moments, Parker. But it’s more than that. I want them to be our moments. I want to give Jett cousins to play with, and I want to add ornaments to our tree every year for all our life’s biggest accomplishments. I want to fill my house, the same house that only feels like home when you’re there, with the pitter-patter of little feet. I want you to be my wife. I want to grow old with you.” I pause to catch my breath, but when I go to speak again, she places her finger over my lips to silence me. My heart stalls as I wait for her next move.

“Holden.” She pauses. “I believe you,” she finally says. “I believe you, but the power I’ve given you scares me. The ownership of my heart. The thought of losing you, it cripples me.”

“You won’t,” I say, standing. I pull her to her feet and move to sit on the bed, tugging her onto my lap. “I’m not me without you, Parker.”

“I love you so much,” she says, her voice cracking.

“Thank fuck,” I mutter, before sealing my lips with hers. She kisses me back with an intensity we’ve never experienced. It’s not until she pulls away and rips her tank top over her head that I know where this is going and why it feels so much more intense.

Makeup sex.

This is a first for us, and I’m here for it.

She scrambles to her feet, and I follow her as we frantically tear at our clothes. When we’re both naked, we stand, staring at one another. All the fear and worry of the day fade away as I stare into her pretty blue eyes. The woman standing before me is my life, my future, and one day soon, my wife.

“On the bed, baby.”

She grins and rushes to lie back on the bed. And that’s when I remember I don’t have a condom. “Fuck.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Condom,” I mutter. Fuck me. I need her. The thought of getting dressed and leaving her here to run downstairs and buy some pisses me the fuck off.

“Holden?”

“Yeah?”

“We don’t need them.”

“What?” I smile. “Does that mean?” I climb on the bed and place my hand over her belly.

“No.” She laughs. “I’m not pregnant, but I am on the pill.”

“I know, but we always use them.”

“Well, now we don’t have to.”

“I’ve never” I shake my head. “Sweet pea, I’m not going to last,” I tell her.

She shrugs. “Doesn’t matter. We can just do it again.”

“I love you, Parker Monroe.”

“I love you too, Holden Bailey.”

Climbing on the bed, I settle between her thighs. I bend my head to kiss her, and I sigh as her tongue tangles with mine. Her legs wrap around my waist, and her hands grip my back.

“Holden”—she smiles up at me—“it’s called makeup sex,” she teases.

“I want to savor you. And I know this is going to be a life-altering experience.”

“One you can have every day of forever, but right now, I need you inside me. I need to feel you. To feel us.”

I nod, and for the first time in my life, I slide inside a woman—not just any woman but the love of my life—completely bare. “I’m glad it was you,” I say before pulling out and thrusting back in.

“Feels different. Better,” she pants, as I unleash the worry and fear and stress of possibly losing her. I never want to go through that ever again. Never.

I grit my teeth to ward off my orgasm, but when her pussy grips my cock like a fucking vise, I know I don’t have long. “Where?” I ask, and my girl knows what I’m asking.

“Inside me.”

That’s all it takes for me to come harder than I have in my entire life. I roll over to my back, not willing to pull out of her heat just yet, but needing to not crush her with my weight.

She props her chin on her hands that are resting on my chest. “When can we do that again?” she asks, smirking.

All I can do is smile up at her and thank my lucky stars for bringing her into my life.
