The reason is . . . him.
I run my knuckles along his cheek. “Because you like your sleep, love,” I tell him. “Because I have an early flight to London tomorrow morning, and I didn’t want to wake you up when I packed before I left. Because I plan on fucking you and making love to you tonight before I go, and I knew you’d be worn out and—”
Nate shuts me up with a kiss. A passionate kiss that makes me never want to stop boyfriend lessons with him. When he sweeps his lips over mine and pulls me closer, kisses me even deeper, I just know.
Everything I was trying to figure out during the concert is completely clear. All the questions were about myself—could I trust my feelings? Could I trust my judgment? Could I listen to my heart?
And the answers were one and the same. My heart wants one thing.
Him.
Nate looks down at me with such love in his blue eyes when we break the kiss that I can only choose trust.
“Final boyfriend lesson,” I say. “Are you ready, Nate Chandler?”
He straightens his spine playfully. “Always ready. What have you got?”
“You. Me. Real boyfriends. Starting now.”
He nods a few times, like he’s weighing it. Then he drops a quick kiss to my lips. “I like this lesson. I like it a lot. Let’s start by going to that party.”
A little later, we grab drinks at Speakeasy when the rocker swings by and says hello.
“I’m Stone Zenith. So glad you could attend the show and the party.”
“Hunter Colburn. Loved every second of it. So much it made me realize I wanted this guy”—I stop to wrap my arm more tightly around Nate—“to be my boyfriend. So thank you.”
The rock star offers a hand to high-five. “That is awesome. I love it when my music touches people. Makes it all worthwhile.”
“It was definitely worthwhile to me,” I say.
“Me too,” Nate chimes in.
“Rock on,” Stone says, then he turns to talk to TJ and Jude while I give all my focus to the man I met yesterday.
“You like calling me your boyfriend,” Nate says like he’s got my number.
“You’re wrong. I love it,” I say, then haul him closer. “Just like I love you.”
“Mmm. I guess you were right about that winning streak, babe. It’s our winning streak.”
I’ll say, and I don’t want it to end. Ever. I’m going to make sure I keep my top-notch boyfriend incredibly happy every damn day.
