“Thank you for making today perfect,” I whisper to my soon-to-be husband as we step up to the altar.
The officiant speaks about love and life and happiness and once he’s done, we say our vows, promising, in front of God and our family and friends to love each other, until death do us part.
“You may now kiss the bride,” he says after I’ve placed Isaac’s wedding band on his finger. He steps closer and, cradling my face in his hands, softly and passionately kisses me.
“You’re finally mine,” he says against my lips.
“Officially,” I murmur, “but we both know I’ve been yours since the day we met.”
“Yeah, you have,” he agrees. “Just like I’ve always been yours.”
