“Not close enough or you wouldn’t have landed yourself smack dab in the middle of this shitstorm you’ve found yourself in.” He straddled his bike and looked at me over his shoulder until I climbed on behind him. “But your dad doesn’t have to worry about your safety anymore. You’ve got me now, and I sure as fuck am not going to let anything happen to you.”

My plan to grab Alyssa and take her somewhere safe—and private—had been a spur-of-the-moment decision. Which meant I had to think fast and figure out where to take her…and what exactly would happen when we arrived.

You know exactly what's going to happen, a voice in my head insisted. Yeah, I was lying to myself if I didn’t admit that the second she told me she was legal, I was already making a mental list of the things I wanted to do to her in bed.

However, her safety came first.

I needed a place where we’d be off the grid, not only from the assholes that would hurt her but off her father’s radar, too. Honestly, I wasn’t sure who was the bigger threat at the moment. The sheriff wouldn’t kill me, but when it came to his precious daughter, I wouldn’t put it past him to plant evidence and have me thrown in a deep, dark pit.

Although it was probably a safe bet that he wouldn’t leave Alyssa to raise a fatherless child…

When she climbed onto my bike and wrapped herself around me, I held in a deep groan. She was soft everywhere, and even through my jeans and leathers, I could feel the heat from her center. Thinking about sinking myself deep into her young, untried pussy and leaving my baby in her belly sent a shockwave of excitement straight to my dick, and it hardened painfully. I wanted to see Alyssa wearin’ my property patch, her stomach round and swollen, and my ring on her finger. The old lady cut would warn off other MCs, and the ring, along with my last name, would warn off any other motherfuckers who came sniffing around my woman.

With this new plan, I needed more than just a private place to hole up for a day or two while we ferreted out the dirty cops on the force. I needed time to prove to Alyssa that she belonged to me and to make sure she was well on her way to being knocked up before the cavalry rode in.

I knew Mac would understand and back me up because he’d do anything for his old lady, but he’d also order me to make it my mission to smooth things over with local law enforcement. Hopefully, when the sheriff saw Alyssa happy and in a relationship with a man who worshiped her, it would help to repair the bridge I’d officially burn when I popped her cherry.

Before taking off out of the parking lot, I sent a quick text to Paxton, a prospect who happened to be a real estate agent, and asked if he had a small place we could stay in for a couple of weeks undisturbed. He’d immediately replied with an address that wasn’t all that far from the Silver Saint’s compound. Even though, as a prospect, he was required to do what I asked, I promised him a case of his favorite beer for helping me out. I didn’t want to know why he’d had the address of a vacant house in a remote, secluded area at his fingertips.

I drove carefully through town, making sure to abide by the speed limits and not draw attention, but when I was out on the highway, I hit the throttle and opened her up. The address was only ten minutes out of town, but I drove around for nearly two hours to make sure I left a false trail. Since my woman’s father—as well as the dirty cops—had access to red-light cameras and random security footage, I gave them plenty to see that indicated I was headed up north, then I used roads that were beyond their scope to double back.

The house turned out to be not so small, but a sprawling ranch house with a three-car garage, an indoor pool, five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a theater room, and more. Despite how close we were to town, the home was tucked into the woods and out of sight. Even the road leading up to it would be difficult to spot unless you knew the house was there.

Considering how large the place was, I didn’t expect it to be…cozy—a word I’d never used before in my life. Alyssa’s eyes had been wide and round ever since we drove up to it, parked my hog in one of the garage bays, and entered the house. I set the alarm while she wandered into the spacious kitchen that Dash, who loved to cook, would have been drooling over.
