Patch (Silver Saints MC) - Page 17

VP: Open the fucking door.

He’d added a smiley face, and I rolled my eyes as I put my phone into a pocket of my cut—which I’d thrown on when I went to get breakfast. The jackass was just as deadly as the rest of us and could put the fear of God into someone. But he was also laid back and loved to stir up shit just to mess with us.

I brushed a kiss over the crown of Willa’s head, wishing I could hide her away in the bedroom but fully aware that she'd never agree. “VP is here,” I told them. “Probably has information about the neighbor.”

“Go deal with this shit,” her dad said gruffly, then narrowed his eyes. “Protect my little girl, or I’ll rain hell down on you, boy.”

I nodded. “That’s fair.”

After another kiss to the top of Willa’s head, I left her to say goodbye to her dad while I grumbled all the way to the front door. I swung it open and snarled, “What’s so fucking important that you had to haul your ass all the way to my condo?”

Doc was standing beside Scout, holding up a fat manila file folder. “Not exactly shit we want to do over the phone. Want to bring your woman out to the compound?”

He raised an eyebrow, and I cursed under my breath. He had me, and he knew it, so I stepped out of the way and let them walk in. “Nova and Dom’ll be here in five,” Scout told me as he strolled inside.

Willa was just putting away her phone when Scout spotted her, and he stopped suddenly. A slow smile spread across his face before he winked and stuck his thumbs in his pockets. “Hello there, shortcake.”

“He has a thing for nicknames,” I grunted when Willa shot me a confused glance. I expected her to argue with Scout about being short, but she just shrugged, further demonstrating how damn perfect she was.

I’d only taken a few steps toward her when the door opened again, and two Silver Saints enforcers walked right in as if they owned the place. My eyes jumped around to the group, and even though three of them were married and had kids, jealousy still sparked inside me. I removed my cut as I stomped over to Willa, then helped her put it on. It was way too big for her but seeing her marked as mine was sexy as fuck. And made me feel a little less homicidal toward my brothers.

The three with old ladies grinned knowingly, but they didn’t comment. They couldn’t say much since they’d all been there. Doc was already rummaging around in my kitchen for something to eat, paying no attention to us. He was always hungry.

“Doc, find something to snack on and get your ass in here. Let’s get this over with,” I muttered.

“Um…” Willa shifted her weight from one foot to the other and raised questioning eyes to my face. “Can I stay? Or do I need to make myself scarce?”

I grinned and planted a kiss on her lips, then murmured, “Fucking perfect.”

“You wouldn’t argue if we said you couldn’t stay?” Scout asked, his tone incredulous. I glanced over to see all four of them staring at Willa in surprise, and a grin split my face. The Silver Saints old ladies were well aware that there were some things they couldn’t know or be a part of, and they respected it. But that didn’t mean some of them didn’t buck at the restriction at first. But Willa grew up in the life. She was already familiar with our ways and accepted them.

“Not if Patch asked me to go,” she replied, using my road name as a sign of respect and submission in the presence of my brothers. “I trust that he’ll tell me what I need to know.”

Scout laughed and ambled into the room to plop down on the couch. “Damn, it took my kitty cat a couple of years to accept that. Not that I’m complaining. Every time we fought about it, we had makeup sex. I might even have egged her on a little.” He winked at Willa, and she giggled before looking at me once more.

“You can stay for now, sweetheart.” I guided her over to a recliner and sat, pulling her onto my lap.

Doc, Dom, and Nova all greeted Willa as they found seats for themselves. Before getting settled, Doc handed me the folder, and I tucked my girl into me so I could look over the contents.

It was a dossier on Vincent Trent, and it was fucking thorough. Not that I expected any less from Hack. But it wasn’t so much how deep Hack had gone into Vincent’s life. No, the overflowing folder was filled with all the shady shit he’d been involved with…or suspected since it looked like nothing ever seemed to stick.
