Kristy gasped and reached over to hug her. “Poppy! Twins! That’s amazing!”
“Hey,” Samir protested. “I helped!”
Jarik and Kashif both laughed and clapped their brother on the back. “Twins. You’d have to do things the hard way,” Jarik joked.
They continued to laugh and tease. Finally, as things died down, and they all went to have dinner together, Kristy slipped her hands around his waist. “I’m so happy, baby,” she said in his ear.
“Good.” He stopped and tilted her chin to kiss her on the mouth. “And after dinner, I think I’m going to make you a whole lot happier.”
“Really?”
“Oh yes. See, Arella told Abir what would happen if he woke up in the middle of the night. No Christmas presents for him. I have a feeling that we’ll be very alone tonight, and I plan on making the most of it.”
“Oooh.” A wicked smile crossed her face. “I like the sound of that.”
Leaning down, he whispered everything he wanted to do to her in her ear. She shivered, and he nipped gently on her lobe.
“That does sound like a Merry Christmas,” she laughed.
Indeed, it did.
