Necromancist (Seven Forbidden Arts 6) - Page 64

A little gasp told him she’d been a really good girl. With the app, he could set off the vibrator even from a different continent. That way, he could always give her an orgasm, no matter how far apart they were. He’d gotten it with touring so frequently in mind, but now that he’d had a taste of Alice again, he had no intention of going that far away from her.

The program increased in speed, inviting a soft moan from Alice. The sound caressed his ear through the speaker. As the gentle hammer action set in, her breathing picked up. He could take his cock in his hand and make himself come, but listening to her was too sweet. He didn’t want to miss a beat of her passionate cries, not a single breath she skipped. He had a whole list of settings he could choose from, varying in rhythm and intensity. The possibilities were endless. He planned on testing each and every setting, until he found the one that made her scream in pleasure.

“Ivan.”

Nothing could’ve made him happier than to hear her call his name. In her moment of ecstasy, she thought about him. His chest expanded with a foreign feeling of warmth. The rhythm on the app dipped, turning slower and then faster, again.

A muted cry came over the phone. “Oh, my God.”

“Let me hear you, Princess,” he whispered.

She didn’t disappoint him. Her panting grew heavy and needy. He imagined her touching her breasts and clamping her knees together like she did just before she climaxed. He knew exactly at which point she orgasmed. She made a mewling sound and held it for just a second before her moaning turned into a purr in the wake of the aftershocks. Fuck, it was hot to hear her come. He wanted to be there, to stroke her hair and hold her to his chest while her breathing turned back to the easy, deep rhythm of sleep, but the best he could do for now was press a kiss to his phone.

“Go back to sleep,” he said with a smile. Him, he needed a cold shower.

He was tired, but sleep would have to wait. After a shower, he got dressed, preparing himself for a moment he wasn’t looking forward to—facing Mr. Jones. Before that, he had something else to do. He scrolled down the groupie list on his phone and hovered a finger over Crim’s name. She was the girl with the brown, tormented eyes he’d fucked a couple of times in his hotel bed. He still remembered the expression on her face the night after his last concert when he’d chased her off. He swiped the green button. She answered immediately.

“Iv? Oh, my God, I can’t believe you’re calling me.”

“Want to come to London?”

“Of course, I do!”

“It’s not for a groupie thing. I have a job for you.”

She sounded hesitant. “If not for a groupie, where will I stay?”

“You can stay at my hotel. I’ll get the bill, but don’t get any ideas. My offer is purely professional, unless you’ve found a job in the meantime.”

“Not yet.”

“Can you get a few of the other girls together?”

“How many?”

“As many as possible.”

“What’s going on? You’re being so mysterious, Iv.”

“I’ll pay well. It’ll be worth your while.”

“As soon as I know who’s interested, I’ll let you know.”

“I’ll have Kate deliver the tickets. Come on the first flight available.”

She squealed. “I’ve never been to London.”

“Better pack a rain jacket.”

After talking to Crim, he called Kate and of course, at that hour, woke her. She was grumpy, to say the least, and because he couldn’t tell her of his intentions, he only told her he’d decided to fly his groupies over.

“Ivan…”

He could hear her light a cigarette. “What?”

“I thought I saw something between you and the publicity girl last night. I’ve never seen you look at any woman like that before. Are you sure you want your old groupies here, now? I was kind of hoping…”

“I’m sure.”

She inhaled and blew out. “It’s your money. Who am I to argue? I’m just an old woman.”

“I haven’t asked for your advice,” he said with a smile.

“That’s why you ain’t getting it.” She hung up.

He ordered breakfast and searched the news sites on his phone for announcements about the medium’s murder but found nothing. Her body hadn’t been discovered, yet. After breakfast, he called Ben, but his phone was off.

He dialed Donald. “Have you heard from Ben?”

“No. What’s up?”

“He resigned.”

“What?” Donald spoke so loudly, Ivan had to hold the phone away from his ear.

“I haven’t told Kate yet, so keep it to yourself until I’ve seen her. I want to break the news to her in person.”

“You mean to tell me there’s no one protecting you?”

“Nothing can protect me from what’s coming.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Can you meet me at Alice’s house at eight?”
