“They will not hurt you. They’ve taken a liking to you.”
She held the towel tight against her body. Her long brown hair was dripping as she shivered.
“Let’s get you dressed and dry your hair before you get sick,” Steven stated, but Sally was looking down and clutching the towel. She peeked around Steven to look at the doorway. Toby was sitting there. He made a noise like a whimper, and she threw herself against Steven.
Steven wrapped his arms around her and held her tight.
“It’s okay. He’s just wondering why you’re frightened of him. He’s a really good dog.”
“I told you, a dog bit me once.”
He cupped her cheeks between his hands and tilted her head up toward him.
He saw the fear in her eyes, and combined with how feminine and petite she appeared nearly naked in front of him, he couldn’t stop himself from tasting her again.
He slowly lowered his mouth to hers and right before their lips met, she closed her eyes. Feeling triumphant, he pulled her closer and kissed her deeply. He savored her taste and how right it felt to kiss her.
He slowly released her lips and touched foreheads with her.
“You taste so good, Sally. You’re beautiful.”
The dog gave a small, low cry and Steven chuckled.
“Let’s get you dressed.”
As he released her, he saw her eyes lock on Mason. Steven turned to look at his brother and saw the intensity in his eyes and the desire to kiss Sally. He wondered when he would make his move.
“We’ll give you some time to get dressed.”
Steven headed out and so did Mason.

Sally put on her black stretchy pants and a pair of thick socks. She forgot to bring in underwear and her sweater. She was wearing a bra and drying her hair when she heard scratching on the door. That dog Toby really didn’t want her out of his sight.
She put the dryer away, ran her brush through her hair, and turned toward the doorway. She had to leave the room. They promised that the dogs were friendly. She could do this.
Slowly she opened the door wearing only her bra and pants. Looking down, she saw the dog was there with his tongue hanging out, panting.
“Okay, so they said you’re cool, right. I guess I should trust them, huh?” She slowly reached out her hand.
“Please don’t eat me,” she whispered as the big dog sniffed her hand then licked it. She laughed as it tickled, and she reached down and began to pet it. She was surprised how soft the black and mahogany fur was. It was a beautiful dog. The more she pet Toby the more it wanted. Soon he was sitting on her feet and leaning his neck back so she could pet him everywhere. She laughed.
“You are a crazy dog.”
“I never wanted to be a dog more than I do right now.”
She gasped as she looked up and saw Mason standing in the doorway watching her. His arms were crossed in front of his large chest as if he had been standing there a while. He was breathtaking, and his muscular arms were hard to ignore. It took her a moment to remember that she wasn’t wearing a top and only her bra. She crossed her arms over her chest best she could and turned around.
“Toby, voraus!” Mason said something in another language and Toby disappeared. “I didn’t mean to scare you. I’m glad you’re getting over your fear of the dogs. Toby is a real—”
He didn’t complete his sentence, and Sally looked over her shoulder at him. She was trying to step to the right toward the bed and her bag. The shirt was in there.
“Toby is a real what?” she asked, sounding breathless to her own ears. She was stuck, half-naked in a bedroom with a sexy, gorgeous man dressed in camo pants and a black T-shirt. He looked so Rambo-like it turned her on, made her shake. Other body parts were at complete attention now.
She jumped when she felt his finger touch her bare back.
“What is this from?” he asked her as he traced the patch of scarring along her lower back. She shivered and squeezed her arms tighter to her.
