“Every step. Cap helped with the ring. Mal did the flowers.”
“No way. He doesn’t strike me as a flower guy.”
“I am deeply offended by that,” Mal said quietly.
I laughed and kissed Carmine again before Cap and Mal both came into the office and wrapped us up in a giant hug.
My new family. My future husband, my best friends.
This was my future and my joy.
“So where will you have the wedding?” Cap asked. “France was lovely. Or maybe you can go back home to Mexico?”
“I was thinking right here in the Lowdown,” I said.
Carmine groaned. “Last time we had a wedding here, a bunch of bikers attacked.”
“I don’t think Cezary will be attacking anyone. Not when he’s so busy counting all his money.”
Carmine laughed and hugged me tight. “All right then, we’ll have the wedding right here. I guess we should start planning.”
“We’ll start tomorrow. Let’s just enjoy this for now, okay?”
“Good idea,” he said.
