Adres finally had to pull back so he could let out his cry of pleasure as he came over and over from Macauley’s thoughts.

Your ass is so tight and perfect. Macauley thrust, his eyes boring into his. Adres could feel the snug heat around his own spent cock, causing it to spasm and twitch. I could fuck you all night.

Yes! Deeper. Adres had wanted his own special connection with his mate, and he had it.

Macauley’s rhythm faltered as Adres added his own nasty thoughts through their link. He pictured himself on his knees, taking his beloved’s cock down his throat again before Macauley bent him over and took him hard from behind.

I’ll sex you any way you want, Adres. Macauley’s voice was husky, his dick getting heavier inside him as he stilled and shuddered through another orgasm, filling Adres until his come was running down the inside of his thigh.

So full was Adres’s last intoxicated thought as he was pulled into Macauley’s damp chest and allowed slumber to claim him.

Macauley fell asleep after watching Adres slumber for a couple of hours. He’d looked so damn sexy when he was mated and well fucked. While Adres’s skin was still pale and scarred, his skin had shone like a rare pearl under the moon’s light, and Macauley had just managed to control his animalistic instincts.

Macauley yawned and stretched his fatigued limbs. It’d been a long night, and according to his hard dick, it wasn’t over. He rolled over and reached for Adres, but his palm hit nothing but empty space. He popped one eye open and glanced around the modest-sized tent, but he wasn’t in there.

The hell. It was broad daylight… had he left before the sun came up? But he thought that—

I’m right here, beloved. Adres sighed.

Macauley’s grinned from ear to ear. They didn’t have an ordinary mating link where they could speak to each other telepathically. No. With their bond, they didn’t have to speak at all for the other to hear them. Macauley had wondered where his mate was, and Adres had answered.

He grabbed a large bottle of water from the cooler his betas had packed for him and took a few gulps to quench his parched throat. He unzipped the tent and sucked in a sharp breath at the gust of cold wind that blew inside. This was his favorite part of their land, but it was also the highest point, therefore the coldest. His wolf was Siberian, so he relished the winter, but even his fur wasn’t invincible to snow. Ice melted and dripped like dew from the trees as Macauley threw a heavy chinchilla throw over his shoulders and stepped out into the morning sun streaming through the sparse canopy of pine trees.

Macauley was aware that when vampires mated with a human or a shifter, they were no longer restricted to the night. Nature had designed it so that they would be compatible with their life partner for the rest of their days. But he was still overwhelmed when he saw Adres standing naked near the edge of the cliff with his arms stretched out wide as if he was about to do a swan dive into the waterfall. It wasn’t only the awe of seeing him in the daylight; it was the sheer elation that Macauley could feel like an aura. Adres was damn-near glowing, his presence so warm and welcoming that it took Macauley a minute to notice the wildlife that had gathered around.

Birds chirped and sang louder than he’d ever heard before, and squirrels scurried past his feet in a spirited game of chase. Rabbits made fresh hopping tracks through the snow as they munched on twigs and conifer needles. There was a family of white-tailed deer foraging for blueberries only a few yards away, while Adres stood amongst it all… as if he’d made it happen. The closer Macauley got to him, the warmer the air became until he was standing within Adres’s wind, which he summoned from the west.

He wrapped his arms around Adres from behind and rested his cheek against the back of his head. Macauley had seen many sunrises, enough that he didn’t noticed them anymore. Shame. He couldn’t help but wonder what it must feel like to experience the sun’s rays on his skin for the first time in almost two thousand years.

“I can only describe it as being reborn.” Adres answered the thoughts in Macauley’s mind.

He squeezed Adres’s waist, nuzzling the side of his throat. His mate shuddered when he brushed his lips across the mark over his pulse that would never fade.

“This far exceeds any magic I could ever possess, for there is no one more powerful than the sun god,” Adres whispered as if he was praying. “So selfless in his grace and giving.”

“Did these animals come out when you did?” Macauley caught sight of two eagles hovering above them.
