I’ll do this for her. It’s illegal and risky, but I’ll do it.
I’d do anything for my woman.
I park my truck near the trails where I always leave it and jump on my dirt bike. You can only access my cabin on foot, dirt bike, or by ATV.
I’m really glad for that now. I don’t need anyone snooping around my property and seeing the treasure I have stashed away. I can’t have anyone seeing Kennedy until all memory of the prisoner dying in the wildfire is extinguished.
Kennedy is waiting for me in one of my t-shirts when I get back. It falls to just above her knees and the gorgeous sight of my angel standing there—black hair flowing down, wet juicy lips parted, hard nipples poking out of the shirt—is enough to stagger me as I get off the bike.
“What’s all that?” she asks with a smile as she bounds down the steps and runs to me. I smile as I catch her in my arms, breathing in her intoxicating scent as I spin her around.
She giggles and smiles as I lean in and kiss her.
“Mmmmm,” she moans, licking her lips when I pull away. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
“What’s all this?” she asks again as she looks at the bags.
“Just a few things to help you settle in.”
“That’s all for me?”
I grin. “Open it and find out.”
She squeals as she opens each bag and peeks in at all of the goodies I bought her.
“I can’t believe you got all of this for me.”
“You can have it under one condition,” I say in a firm tone.
Her eyebrow raises.
“You do a fashion show for me and try on each one.”
“Deal!” she says as she snatches up the bags, kisses my cheek, and runs into the house with an excited squeal.
I grin as I follow her in with my eyes locked on her nice little ass.
My cock hardens with every step, knowing I’m going to spend the rest of the morning watching my stunning angel change into one sexy outfit after another.
“Mmmmmm,” I moan as I step inside.
Life is getting good.
EPILOGUE
Declan

Six Months Later…
* * *
“This is not how I was expecting to be spending Christmas,” Kennedy says as she gazes at the Christmas tree in the corner of the room. She’s laying on the couch, holding her pregnant stomach as the fire warms her feet. “I was expecting the next thirty-six years to be spent alone in a cell, crying into my scratchy sheets.”
She rarely brings up prison anymore. We’ve gotten to a place where she’s not worried about going back and is trying to put it all behind her.
“Imagine next year,” I say as I bring her a mug of hot chocolate. It’s my mother’s special Christmas recipe and I’m thrilled to be able to finally make it for someone. “We’re going to have a toddler running around.”
Her face lights up in a gorgeous smile. “I can’t wait,” she says as she takes the mug from my hands and inhales the chocolatey scent. “Mmmmmm. You’re full of surprises.”
I sit on the coffee table in front of her and admire her beautiful face. It’s lit up with the orange glow of the fire and I can see the colorful lights of the Christmas tree reflecting in her eyes. She’s perfect.
She’s something I never knew I wanted, but now that I’ve had a taste of her, I know that I can never let her go.
I can’t wait to see her as a mother to our child. That’s going to be one lucky kid who gets to call her mom. I saw her raise baby birds like they were her own and she cried on the day when all three of them flew out of the nest. She’s going to do great.
“What do you think it is?” she asks as she looks up at me with a happy grin. “A boy or a girl?”
We’ve had this conversation a dozen times but it never stops being fun to speculate. “I think it’s a girl.”
She smiles. “I think so too.”
“I hope she has your eyes.”
“I hope she doesn’t have your hairy chest.”
We both laugh and then smile at each other as we wonder how our little miracle is going to change our peaceful oasis. Nothing will be the same once she comes into the world, but I know that it’s going to be better.
“Declan…” she says as she drops her eyes to her mug. “Do you think it’s time?”
I suck in a breath and feel a tightness in my chest. This is the moment I’ve been dreading for the past six months. I always knew we’d have to get Kennedy a new identity, but it comes with some risks. She can get caught. We can both get arrested and then what will happen to our child then? What will happen to our relationship? To our lives?
