We were waiting for Troy to come back with Micah. Will already had a team dispatched to make sure they made it back to the house safely from the airport.
We were waiting for Gavin to get here so we could figure out if he could assist us further and maybe finally break the news to both him and Jemmy, that they were connected.
And we were waiting for Noah to return one of our phone calls.
Waiting, waiting, waiting.
At some time during the waiting game, we all made it to the living room, so we could wait in comfort. Remy still hadn’t let me up from his lap and I was okay with that. I felt warm and secure and felt myself drifting off to sleep. I just wanted to close my eyes for a moment. I knew someone would wake me up when my brother and Troy got here, or Gavin. Someone would.
Chapter 33
I was gently shaken awake.
“Wake up, you sleepy head, you’re going to be late for school,” a warm male voice whispered in my ear.
I stretched in confusion, it was Saturday and we were on break. I noticed the weird texture of the sheets below me. Since I left Heidi’s I had never felt fabric this rough. I blinked and looked down at my sheets. Remy had a different house keeper. Maybe she didn’t know how to wash our sheets… I didn’t even recognize them.
I rolled over and blinked up at the man gazing down at me. He wasn’t one of my guys.
I yelped and scooted back in the bed. I looked wildly around the room, not recognizing any of my surroundings.
“Collin,” I stated slowly, “where am I and why am I here?”
Standing before me was the man who hooked up with Drake’s ex-girlfriend, Rose. The guy who made Bridgette Mason hate me when I was a sophomore in high school because she thought I was stealing her boyfriend. The guy I had no clue was gifted until almost two months ago.
He sat down on the edge of my bed and gently rubbed my head. “You drank a little bit too much last night and hit your head. You must have hit it really hard. Maybe you shouldn’t start Knightstown today,” he frowned. “We are at my apartment and we’ve been dating for months, babe.”
I frowned back at him and then realization slowly seeped in. I closed my eyes and felt my tears fall. It happened. I had lost my guys, Ella, Micah, Alex, Will, and Jemmy. I had to find them again. I had to make things right.
To be continued…
