Crave Her Curves

“You wanted to propose? That’s what you wanted to talk to me about?” she asks.
“Yes. I wanted it to be the perfect setting even though now, I feel our bedroom would have been the perfect place.”
She chuckles. “You’re having to be on your best behavior.”
“Yes. Can I ask you a question?” I ask.
She nods.
“Are you angry with me about your dad?”
“No. My dad and I have never really seen eye to eye. I can imagine he was more than happy to get rid of me.” She squeezes my hand. “I’m sorry if he caused you any trouble.”
“He means nothing to me. I stuck around for you. You needed someone, and he proved time and again, he wasn’t worth my time.”
We finish our meal and forgo dessert. I get the check, and with her hand in mine, I lead her back out to the car.
Home is the only place I want to be.
For now until eternity.

I giggle as Mitch turns the instructions over again and again. We had our pregnancy confirmed today at the doctor. It is too soon to tell the sex, but seeing as we now have a baby on the way, he is going crazy over getting the nursery set up.
He loves the same room as I do. It’s close to our bedroom and has the perfect view of the garden.
Resting my head against the doorframe, I place a hand on my stomach.
“Are you reading the instructions right?” We’re going to get married this weekend. I don’t want a large wedding, and neither does Mitch. We’re flying out to Vegas to make it official. Some women want huge church weddings. Me, I just want to marry him. I don’t need anything else attached to it, just Mitch.
He looks up at me, and the glare disappears.
“They’ve sent the wrong instructions with the crib.” He gets to his feet and walks toward me, showing me his manly skills are not to be questioned. I smile.
“I see.”
“You should be resting.”
“I know a whole lot of other women who were heavily pregnant and still working. I’m not even out of my first trimester yet. I’m good.” Stepping into the bedroom, I look at all the pieces. “How about we work on this together?” I grab his phone, bringing up the crib and the description of how to put it together.
For the next two hours, with a lot of laughter and some tickling, we were able to put it together. Once it is done, we stand back, admiring our handiwork. We’ve done it, built a crib together, but I know just from looking at it we’ve done so much more than that.
“How are you feeling?” he asks. His hands are on my stomach as I stand in front of him. He worries about everything and nothing.
“I’m fine.”
“You don’t need to go and rest?”
“I don’t need to go and rest.” Spinning in his arms, I ask. “Do you want a sandwich?” I cup his cheek and smile up at him.
“Are you happy?”
This makes me pause. “You think I might be … unhappy?”
I love it when he holds my face. It’s always so gentle and with the slight edge of dominance I can’t resist. “I want you to be happy.”
“Mitch, I’ve never told you this, but … erm … I’ve been in love with you since I was sixteen. Whenever you’d come around, I’d hide because I was afraid you’d see it. My feelings for you have only gotten deeper. Then when I turned eighteen, I knew I was in love with you. When I read the romance books, I’m not reading them for the hero. I was always imagining you in those roles.” Placing my hands on his chest, I look up into his face and offer him a smile. “You’re my everything, and you have been for a long time. Happy doesn’t even begin to cover what I am. You make me complete.”
“Yep, you’re not getting a sandwich for a couple of hours.” Mitch lifts me up over his shoulder and carries me out of the room down to our bedroom.
I can’t wait.
Since finding out about the baby, he’d been so careful with me, whereas now, he knows he doesn’t have to be.
We can have sex and fun for some months to come.
I, for one, can’t get enough of my soon-to-be husband, and I love that he can’t keep his hands off me.
Epilogue
One year later
Standing at the edge of the pool at our cabin, I watch my wife hold our daughter in her arms. Ava gave birth to her three months ago, and we felt it was only time for us to get away from the city.
The cabin has been calling to us for some time. This is where we kick back, have fun, and just enjoy each other. I get off the phone from work, and now I climb into the pool and walk over to my two darling girls. Ava is glowing as she always does, and so is Bethany, our baby girl.
