The Nanny and the Playboy

They’d been in bed when he told her his fears. She’d touched his face, smiled at him, and told him that he was being silly. He was an amazing father, and so long as he didn’t let his ego get in the way, one of the nicest people she’d ever met.
He’d spent the rest of the night making love to her. Since Temperance and Timothy entered his life, he’d gone from playboy to stay-at-home dad. He ran his company, but wouldn’t be away from his family any more than he had to.
Temperance joined him at social events, and if anyone even so much as tried to put her down, he was all over them. Taking his little girl from her arms, Wayne wrapped his arm around her just as Timothy came to their side and snuggled in close. The mirror across the fire place caught his eye, and he saw their perfect family as they stood looking at the tree.
“It’s too small,” Timothy said.
“We’re going to need to get a bigger one.”
Wayne groaned.
“I’ll clean up the mess. You won’t have to worry about it,” she said, tilting her head back. “What do you think?”
“I could be tempted, but that means we’ve got to go out hunting for one.”
“It’s not that bad. We’re putting it up early enough. I’ll get everyone ready for us to go.”
“No, you stay here, and we’ll be back.” He pressed a kiss to her lips and quickly handed back their little girl.
“Wayne,” Temperance said. “I cleaned the last one.”
The scent that came from his baby girl was enough to get Timothy out of the house.
“Woman, I love you, but those diapers are toxic. Besides, you want the perfect tree, don’t you?”
“Lindsey got a stinky bottom,” Timothy said, laughing.
Shaking her head, he caught Temperance’s eye. “I’ll see you when you get back.” She was making her way past him, and he caught her, ignoring the pungent scent from their little girl.
“I love you, my little nanny.”
She laughed. Ever since the papers had dubbed her “the nanny” he couldn’t resist teasing her with it.
“And I love you, my little playboy. Don’t stay out too late.”
“I won’t. I can’t wait to come back.” He kissed her lips, knowing tonight after he decorated the tree, he had every intention of making love to his wife in front of the roaring fire.
Being married to Temperance was never dull or boring. In fact, he considered the best thing he’d ever done. She’d gotten under his skin, and there was nowhere else he wanted her to be.
He wasn’t the playboy anymore.
No, he was the happy in love husband and father who’d turned his life around.
