"I was sleeping," I say now. "Did you try to wake me?"

"I did," she confirms now. "Nudged you."

"But did you suck my cock because I’m pretty sure if you put your mouth on me"—my voice goes soft—"I would have been up in more ways than one." I wink at her, and she throws her head back and laughs. I see her neck, and all I can picture is me marking her, biting her right before I suck her neck and sink into her.

"I’ll remember that for next time," she says. I just look at her, taking her all in without a speck of makeup on her face and her hair looking fresh and washed like silk.

"Does that mean you’ll go out with me?" I hold my breath as she stares at me.

She groans. "Fine, if it means we’ll have sex after," she says, "then I’ll go out with you.”

“A date.” I say the word, and she glares at me. I can’t even believe I’m this nervous. My palms are sweaty, and my leg moves up and down as I wait for her to answer.

"I don’t date," she states, and I roll my lips. "But we can have dinner." I smile at her, and I swear it’s like I just climbed Mount fucking Everest. "And then we can have sex. If you want to just have sex, that is even better."

"Friday," I tell her. "I’ll be home on Friday, and we’ll go out."

"And then have sex," she inputs. "Right?"

"I’ll call you tomorrow." She just closes her eyes. "Sleep tight, Frances."

"Brad," she says my name, and I don’t think anyone has called me that in a long time.

"Yeah, baby," I say softly, and her eyes light up just a bit, and I like it.

"You better save some of that energy," she tells me. "You're going to need it."

I laugh at her. "Call you tomorrow." I hang up, putting the phone down on the counter.

Turning the water on in the shower, I undress, and all I can think of is her. I grab the phone, wanting to call her back, but instead, I just put it down, and I wait for tomorrow. The first thing I do when I wake up is grab the phone and text her.

Me: Good morning. How did you sleep?

She answers me right away.

Fran: My vagina is still restless.

All I can do is laugh, shaking my head as I head out the door toward the plane.

Me: I promise to make it up to you.

Fran: You can bet your ass I’m going to make sure you keep that promise.

I put my phone in my pocket. "Oh, trust me, Frances. I’m going to keep that promise."

Chapter 21

Frances

I walk out of the office building when the sun is still out, and I smile when the phone beeps in my purse. "Wow," Ava says from beside me, and I look over at her. "I thought for sure you were a vampire and that once we walked into the sunlight, you would shine." I shake my head, laughing. "Seriously, you get here before everyone, and you leave way later than everyone else." We walk side by side toward our cars. "You must have big plans if you are leaving work early."

"My sister is coming down, and we are going to spend the weekend at the spa." The lie comes out of my mouth. What was I supposed to tell her? I’m going to fuck Wilson hopefully all weekend long?

"Fun." She stops at her car, pressing the unlock button and opening the door. "Have fun and let loose."

"I will," I say, stopping at my own car and getting in. "I plan to let it all loose." Putting my purse on the passenger seat, I start the car. The phone beeps again, and I reach into my purse, taking it out and seeing that it’s from him.

Wilson: Tonight is the night. Pick you up at eight.

My heart starts to pound away in my chest. All week, he’s been sending me a countdown to the date. And every single time, it takes me a good five minutes to get the nerves out of me. My stomach was lurching every single time I saw his name. It was annoying as fuck, and after thinking about it, I would go from nervous to pissed about it. I was a fucking mess, and I hated this feeling so much.

Me: What should I wear?

I press send and see the bubbles appear right away.

Wilson: Whatever you feel comfortable in.

I smirk, answering him.

Me: I’m comfortable with me naked and your cock in me. Shall we skip the dinner?

Wilson: See you at eight with clothes on.

Me: Buzzkill.

Starting the car, I make my way home, and I sit in traffic for a bit, which makes everything even worse because my mind is going around and around. I’ve never been on a date before. Like ever. I usually just head to the bar with friends, pinpoint a guy, and have fun for the night. I’ve never done the whole get dressed for one man in particular. I’m way out of my league, and I know I have to call in the cavalry, but even that makes me nervous because I don’t want them to make a big deal about it.
