“I’ll have fun breaking Tobias’s little toy.”

Tobias

Pacing back and forth. This is what hell feels like. Knowing the woman you love is in a building with a monster, and there is nothing you can do about it. I signal for the team to breach the apartment. It takes one second for the door to open, and then we are off.

“Go!” I whisper-shout, and then I run in with my gun drawn.

I check the hallway before I signal my team to go in after her. From across the room, I see that Felix has Skye pushed against the wall. He doesn’t hear us or see us. We have the element of surprise working in our favor.

Skye’s eyes catch mine, but Felix is still ignorant of our presence.

“I’ll have fun breaking Tobias’s little toy.”

“I’m not his toy.” Skye takes a step forward but not before she winks at me. Her hands lift to his shoulders seductively. I want to shoot him, but by the weapon in Felix’s hand and his close proximity to Skye, it’s not a good idea. “I’m no one’s toy.”

Felix’s weapon isn’t lifted, and despite my reservations, Skye moves into action, lifting her knee.

She shouts back something I can’t make out. I don’t wait for an invitation before I storm the room, throwing my body into Felix’s. The gun drops from his hand, and my fists lift to connect with his face.

He swings back.

Sidestepping, I block his punch, lunge forward, and throw us both to the ground.

The silver metal of his gun gleams, but he’s not fast enough. I grab it first.

Lift and point.

Time to have fun. Now that Skye is back at my compound and tucked away in my bed, I’m ready to see what Felix has to say. She wasn’t happy that I made her leave, but she doesn’t need eyes on this part of the plan.

All the guys are already there, probably chipping away at what little soul he has left. That is, if he even had one to begin with. Knowing he’s responsible for making Skye and me orphans, I doubt he does, but still.

They kept Felix dressed in the room where he’s being held, but this will be short-lived. No better way to torture him than to strip him of his dignity. And other than a few welts and bruises, he seems untouched. Tied to the chair and with his arms locked behind his back, he’s ready.

I don’t speak before I punch him square in the nose. His head thrusts back as a loud crunch echoes through the air. Next comes the blood. It pours down his face.

I turn to see Lorenzo looking at my handiwork with a sick smile on his face. He loves this shit. Sick fuck. For me, it’s the means to an end.

I step back up to him, and this time when I punch him, I aim for his eye. Let’s see how he feels when he can no longer see. I watch as his eye starts to become red. It will be swollen soon when the cut from where my knuckle hit begins to bleed. Felix smiles up at me, eye closed, blood seeping out of his mouth.

“You like this shit?”

He fucking nods.

I walk up to the table and grab a knife.

“You like killing innocent people?” I say as I stab the knife in his thigh.

Felix doesn’t speak. He just smiles. He’s trying to appear strong.

Lorenzo steps up.

“Let me.” He flashes a sinister grin. “I do like to make myself useful.”

It’s a slight movement, but I see how Felix’s arm shakes.

Lorenzo’s reputation precedes him. He will kill him. And it will be the most painful death ever.

Again . . . sick fuck.

Lorenzo takes the knife out of my hand and then moves closer.

“Consider Lorenzo Skye’s representative.” Then he stabs him in the gut, twisting the blade to the hilt and leaving it lodged inside him.

“W-What does Skye have to do with this?” Felix’s eyes roll back, but then Lorenzo strikes him with his palm across the face to rouse him.

“Oh, you didn’t know. Skye’s birth parents were killed in the massacre at Al’s.” Lorenzo pulls the knife out, and blood oozes from the wound.

“What fucking massacre?” Despite the crimson stain growing on Felix’s shirt, he grins at me.

My blood starts to boil at his words. It feels like hot, molten lava is pumping through me.

“The one you ordered that killed my family.”

He spits to the ground, and bright red rivulets drip down his chin. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. You think I remember the casualties?” He chuckles, and it sets me off.

My revenge pours out of me into fists. In blood and sweat and tears. I’m a man possessed. Transported back to a time before taking out my anger and pain on his body.

“You killed my family. You came to Reddington and killed my family.”
