When she finished, he pulled out, gathering her up into his arms and lying down on the bed.

Her head rested on his chest, and he stroked her hair, feeling her confusion.

“What happens now?” she asked.

“What do you mean?”

“With everything? You? Me? This? My old pack?” She tilted her head back, looking up at him. “I don’t know what I’m doing here. In this room. I get … I’m not sure I can be everything you want me to be.”

He smiled. “There’s nothing that I want for definite, Cassie. We can just enjoy each other here.”

“Jessica wants you.”

Abel sighed. “Is this what you’re going to do? Bring up another woman when I’ve got you here in my bed?”

“It doesn’t seem fair that I’m here and she’s not.”

“I don’t want Jessica, Cassie. I’m not going to have a woman think I want her when I clearly don’t.” He ran his fingers up and down her back before resting on her hip.

In the few hours he’d been with her, he was addicted to her body and couldn’t resist touching her.

“She’s been here longer,” Cassie said.

“I don’t give a fuck how long she’s been here. I’m not going to be with her, Cassie. I won’t. You’re the one that I want to be with. No one else.” He saw the indecision in her eyes. “This is our time. No one else, and I won’t be asking you to be with someone else. That shit is not happening on my shift.”

“What happens when we go upstairs?” she asked.

“Nothing changes. I’m not going to hide my need for you though. I’m not going to pretend something isn’t happening between us when it clearly is. When we’re in this room, you become mine. When you’re not here, you have some wiggle room.”

“Jessica is going to hate me.”

“No, she’s not. She can have any other man in the pack. I have told her more than once that we’re never going to be together.” Tilting her head back, he stared into her green gaze. “You’re not going to be able to make what has happened between us go away, Cassie. You might as well stop trying. You’re mine now. I told you the moment you came through that door, that you were mine.”

“Are you sure you don’t have many women coming through that door?”

“I know I’m the perfect catch but no, only you.” He pressed his lips against hers, silencing any protest. “I think I know the perfect way to shut you up,” he said.

“Oh, yeah, and how is that?”

“Keeping your mouth busy.”

He pinned her to the bed, ravishing her lips, kissing her entire body and driving the doubt from her mind. They couldn’t spend all day there, as he still had some appointments with other members of the pack, but it was hard for him to pull away from her, or to bring this to a close.

Cassie was his now, and he had no intention of letting her go.

He only hoped that she realized that.

Chapter Seven

Cassie stared at her unmade bed, and then checked the closet before once again going into the bathroom. She’d been baking all afternoon after her and Abel’s session. She didn’t know what to call it, and now that she was back in her assigned bedroom, she couldn’t find her things.

“What are you doing in here?” Abel asked, making her gasp.

She turned to find him with his arms folded, leaning against the doorframe. “Where’s my stuff?” She tried not to think about how sexy and delightful he looked, or that he made her ache in ways she couldn’t describe.

“Your stuff is now in my room.”

This made her stop and look at him. “What?”

“I had your things moved into my room.” He winked at her. “You’ll be sharing a bed with me from now on.”

She placed a hand to her head and simply stared at him. “You shouldn’t be coming and moving my things without asking. Oh, my, does the pack know?”

“I’m sure they do. I asked Carl to arrange it while I dealt with something else.”

She sat down on the edge of the bed.

Cassie hadn’t really thought about this or about the pack finding out or anything else. “This is … oh, my,” she said. “Are they going to hate me?”

“Nope. It’s not possible to hate you. You’re way too cute to be hated.”

“This isn’t funny, Abel.” Stepping into his dungeon had been strange. She’d wanted to be with him, to see what he was all about. The temptation had been too much for her to deny herself. It was the first time she’d ever been selfish with someone.

“I’m not laughing. I don’t see what the problem is.” He moved into the room, standing right in front of her.

“Don’t you see? I’m the new girl, and you’re the alpha. This is all wrong.”

He caught her face between his hands and helped her to stand up. With his touch she struggled to think.
