Roasting Up Love (Insta Love Shy Girl Romance 6) - Page 17

“I can feel you gripping me,” Dave growled, kissing along my cheekbone to nuzzle my ear. “I can feel your hot little body tensing around me. You’re driving me crazy, Valerie.”

The pressure of his thick cock filling me over and over, his thumb steadily grazing my clit, plus his whispered dirty talk in my ear was all too much to take at once.

“Please… Yes!” I gasped, then wordless screams overtook me as the climax washed through me, drenching me in pure heat, pure pleasure.

“Yes, baby,” Dave growled, quickening his pace as he crushed me against him.

Looking up into his gorgeous eyes, I moaned what I suddenly knew he wanted to hear. “Come inside me, now,” I moaned.

His low groan was nearly a roar, then he was coming hard, flooding my pussy. But it felt like so much more. We were bonding, claiming each other.

Looking up at him through lashes sticky from a few tears, I murmured, “I love you.”

Dave brushed my hair from my face, kissing my forehead gently before whispering, “I love you, Valerie. Now and forever.”

EPILOGUE #1

* Valerie *

* Four Months Later *

I’d never been an athletic person, but Dave wouldn’t take no for an answer, insisting that we go on an early morning hike. Luckily, he wasn’t exaggerating, and it was really just a walk in the forest on well-marked paths. There were a few hills, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I was so relieved that he always encouraged me, but didn’t push me too far.

He was very sweet, walking slowly so that my much shorter legs could keep up with him. There was also so much to look at that we didn’t want to miss anything. There were so many different sorts of trees that I found myself staring at the leaves, almost in a trance.

We found all sorts of strange wildflowers. I had never seen a red trillium before, stopping to take several photos while he waited patiently.

There were giant moss-covered boulders taller than Dave, and tiny frogs by a marshy area. He didn’t seem to mind when I squealed in surprise. I wasn’t afraid of frogs, exactly, I just hadn’t realized they could hop so high, and they startled me to bits.

Every half an hour or so, Dave would dig water and iced coffee bottles from his knapsack, then granola bars, then a

pples. I appreciated how well prepared he was, and how he was more concerned for my comfort than walking any particular distance.

Walking slowly up a bit of a hill, we reached a lookout with a perfect view of the lake. It was so peaceful, just the two of us standing still for a while, watching a seagull float by while a million shades of blue waved in front of us.

“Remember our first date, and the poet who was talking about time flowing fast and slow depending on what you’re doing and who you’re with?” Dave asked. I looked up and grinned, impressed that he recalled such a tiny detail.

“I remember.”

“I’ve been thinking about that,” he said softly. “How every moment away from you seems like an eternity, and every time we’re together, time flows at the perfect pace. Everything just feels better when you’re with me.”

I couldn’t believe that he was this sweetly romantic. Leaning into his shoulder, I wrapped my arm around his waist. “I feel the same way.”

“I know that we’re going to be together forever, sweetheart. Can you feel that too?”

I nodded as the breeze picked up, ruffling our hair.

“Then let’s make it official,” he said with a wink. I wasn’t sure what he meant, as he stepped back, taking my hands in his.

Then he dropped to one knee. “Valerie, you are the love of my life. I want to spend every day trying to make you happy and trying to be the man that you deserve. Will you marry me?”

Gazing into his deep, sweet eyes, I had absolutely no doubt. Nodding quickly, I blinked hard, trying to fight back tears.

“Say it, sweetheart,” he encouraged.

I had to take a breath to find my voice, my throat almost locked shut. “Yes,” I whispered. “I would love to marry you, Dave.”

Falling into his arms, we rolled on the forest floor, kissing and laughing until I was on top of him. His fingers wound into the back of my hair, pulling my mouth against his with a nearly ferocious need. Flames crept up my spine. The forest was beautiful, but I couldn’t wait to get home with him.
