Luca

He stood and walked towards the door without looking back, “Stay safe Chloe. I love you little sis.” And then he was gone leaving me alone with Luca.
Luca wasted no time in calling the last two gorillas into the office, he obviously didn’t want to be alone with me any longer than he had to. I glared daggers into his back, he was such a bloody coward.
“Can you take Miss Ellis to Gina’s. I’ll call ahead and inform her of her new…guest.”
I huffed and stood from the sofa to make my escape, keeping the jacket closed tightly around me so as not to flash anyone with my lacy secrets underneath. Luca was escaping back behind his desk without looking me in the face when something caught his eye and he stopped. He put his hand out to stop me too and then my stomach sank to the floor. I had totally forgotten I had worn it tonight, and I knew straight away he’d seen it. He reached forward and touched the St. Christopher necklace that hung around my neck, the same one that had hung there for seven years. The feel of his hot rough fingers brushing feather like against my delicate skin sent thunder bolts of electricity through my body and straight between my legs making me quiver and hold in my moan. I heard him take an unsteady breathe in, but he wouldn’t raise his eyes to look into mine. If he had he’d have seen the years of angst and longing for him that ha
d built up within me and then been buried deep. They were still there, they always would be; lying dormant ready to be ignited on his say so. He spun round to address the gorillas at the door.
“On second thoughts take her to mine, Sanchez will be vying for blood and that’s the safest place for her. It wouldn’t be fair on Gina or any of the other girls to deal with the shit Sanchez brings with him.”
My eyes bugged out of my head but before I could even formulate a reply the two goons had come either side of me and were ushering me out of the office and back down the stairs to deliver me to their assigned destination.
Chapter 4
“Chloe time to get up or you’ll be late for school.” My Dad hollered at me from the kitchen downstairs.
I groaned wishing it was Saturday and I could fester in my bed all day, why were school days always the days you needed more sleep? I sneaked an eye open to look at the clock and noticed a scrap of paper on my bed side table that hadn’t been there when I went to sleep the night before. I sat up in bed and when I saw what lay on top of the paper I cried out in pain, something truly awful had happened I just knew it.
I lifted the silver chain up and the St. Christopher pendant that hung from it twirled around in front of my eyes. I’d looked at that pendant hanging from his neck since he moved in next door, he never took it off. Once I’d asked him where he got it from and why he always wore it.
“It’s the only thing I have left of my Mum’s.” his stunning perfect face shadowed in mourning for the Mother he had loved and lost.
So why was it here now on my bedside table? I lifted the paper it had lay upon and saw scrawled in his messy handwriting six words. Six simple words I would find myself clinging onto for the next few years. Six words that I thought held so much truth but ultimately set me up for the biggest heartbreak of my young life, and caught me, trapped me in its lie.
‘I will come back for you.’
Chapter 5
The two beefy hunks bundled me into the back of a black SUV and one of them barked over at me to buckle up. I was never one to follow orders so I ignored him and leaned forward sticking my head in between the two front seats and started my interrogation.
“So who are you guys?” I asked looking from one to the other.
“That’s none of your business.” The blond one replied stiffly.
“Well you’ll probably be stuck watching my ass until I can get away so we might as well know each other’s names, right? I’m Chloe by the way.” I stuck my hand out in-between the seats. I figured if I could get these two on my side I would have a better chance at running away and getting back home sooner. Either that or I could gather some useful information.
“I’m Vince but everyone calls me Vinnie,” the dark haired one said shaking my hand, “He’s Marco.” He pointed at the grumpy blond guy who looked over at Vinnie accusingly and huffed in annoyance.
“So I can call you Marc?” I said poking his arm.
“No my names Marco, you can call me Marco or sir, and please don’t touch me.”
“Whatever Marc, you need chill out and learn not to take your job so seriously.” I sneered slumping back into the back seat. “Sir…seriously as if I’d call anyone that!” I tittered quietly.
Vinnie laughed and Marc scowled at the road ahead as he drove, I had a feeling I was gonna like winding these two up especially Marc with the enormous stick he had up his ass.
“So how long have you been working for Luca?” I thought I’d start off with the easy questions, gain some trust and rapport with them.
“Me about 3 years, Marco here since forever.” Vinnie replied.
“Well I don’t remember you Marc from when I was fifteen and hanging out with Luca and Freddie every day.” Marco was a tough nut to crack but I guessed he was the one with the most info right now.
“So you two just drive women around all night and guard Luca’s office. Your parents must be so proud.”
I hoped to get a reaction from one of them, I got my wish.
