Luca

Luca took a gun from behind his back and pointed it at the guy’s head, pressing it right between his eyes. I hadn’t even seen him with a gun this morning. I had no idea it had been there.

“Let’s get one thing straight right now. I’m not weak, I haven’t been weakened by some dirty little fuck and next week I’ll have another one, maybe two or three bent over in my bed screaming my name. I don’t do singular pussy, why tie myself to one when they’re all so…fucking… good.” He snarled ripping my heart out with his vile words.

“If you ever dare to question me again, to question my power in front of my men in my fucking house, I won’t hesitate to shoot you in the fucking head, do you hear me?”

My body went onto automatic pilot as I took the last steps down into the living area. The other men just hung their heads on my entrance, Luca stood facing the guy he was threatening, only Freddie was the one to address me.

“He didn’t mean it Chloe.”

I didn’t care what anyone said in that moment, I wouldn’t have heard any of it. He’d stood there in front of all these men, there must have been at least ten of them listening, standing around like his brainless minions, and he’d called me a dirty. little. fuck. I was done.

“You left your mobile upstairs.” I managed to speak without sounding like the loser he’d made me feel.

I turned to go back up to get changed but on the fifth step I swung back round to face them all again. Luca hadn’t moved, he couldn’t face me, he didn’t dare.

“I’ll be gone when you get back…”

“Don’t Chloe.” Freddie begged. Luca remained silent.

“Your dirty little fuck has had enough. I’m done. I’ll be out of your hair for good. So you’ll be free to fuck any god damn bitch you like, take as many as you want to bed with you I don’t care anymore. We are finished. Over. I’m out of here.”

I ran up the last few steps but just as I got to the top I jumped as I heard the gun go off. Luca had shot the guy in the foot and he was lying on the floor crying in agony as Luca and the others just stared at him.

“If I ever see your face again you’re a dead man.” Luca growled over him before storming out of the house and roaring his car off the drive.

I raced to the bedroom to get changed and get myself the hell out of there.

Freddie appeared at the door as I was darting about grabbing things I’d need.

“Chloe please don’t leave.”

“No Fred, I’m done. Don’t say another word.”

“I’ll talk to him. He didn’t mean a word of that down there I know him, I know how much he loves you. He only said it because…well that asshole made him feel weak. I don’t know why, but he did. He wouldn’t have wanted anyone questioning his power, that’s all it was.”

I spun round to face Freddie with fury burning my eyes.

“Don’t you dare defend him Freddie, he’s a grown man for Christ’s sake. He didn’t have to call me a dirty little fuck did he? He didn’t have to say he was moving on to another girl next week…but he did…and this is the consequence. I’m leaving. Don’t follow me.”

I walked away, into the bathroom slamming the door behind me, and slid down to the floor much like I had that first night I’d been with Luca. Two minutes later I heard Freddie leave the house and his car drive away.

‘Come on Chloe.’ I willed myself onwards, ‘Get up and get going. One door closes another one opens.’ I tried to reason with myself. But right now as I gathered what belongings I had it felt like all the doors were closing.

Chapter 25

Luca

“What the fuck are you playing a

t?” Freddie burst through my office door nearly taking the damn thing off its hinges, before slamming it shut.

“Get out!” I was not in the mood for his shit, I wasn’t in the mood to see anybody.

“Like hell I will. What the fuck was that Luca, all that back at the house? Do you have any idea how badly you’ve fucked things up?”

I wasn’t gonna discuss this with my brother of all people. What did he know about my relationship?

“I know a damn sight more than you it seems.” He snorted angrily as I aired my thoughts to him whilst knocking papers over and making a complete mess of the organised chaos that was my work today.
