“I’m not gonna get a doll out and show you where Freddie, I’m sure you can already guess where without me spelling it out for you.”
That’s when I heard Luca swear a string of profanities and threats at the door. He was listening. Freddie started to cry, he was always so in touch with his emotions, even more than me.
“It’s okay.” I reached forward to hold his hand and offer him some comfort.
“They didn’t get any further than…touching… with their hands...and fingers.”
I shivered remembering their fat fingers pressing inside me. He must have picked up on my reaction as his face turned red with anger.
“I wouldn’t let them go further, I’d rather have died than give in to them like…that.”
I tried my best to plaster on a smile.
“I’m still as virtuous as I was before they took me.” I joked, and heard what I guessed was a fist hit something hard outside the room.
“You promise? You would tell me if they had wouldn’t you?” Freddie looked me in the eyes to make sure I told him the truth.
“Yes. I would.” I met his gaze with my own and he nodded.
“I know this is probably the last thing you’re thinking about, but are you hungry? We were gonna order up some food, the restaurant here serves the best French food ever.” He grinned.
“As long as there’s French fries I’m in.” I grinned back. “And maybe a burger? Thanks Fred that sounds good, I’m starving. I’ll take a shower first though.”
Freddie left the room to sort out some food whilst I headed off to the bathroom in desperate need of a shower. When I entered the luxurious bathroom I decided right away I had to have a bath instead. The huge tub which was sunken into the floor was right in front of the floor to ceiling windows offering the most amazing sea views. It took ages to fill but it looked so lush with the rose petals and various products left for our use tipped into it. I was going to enjoy this soak, it just felt slightly sad that I’d be alone, there was room for company, but I wasn’t in the mood to share really, not now.
I cleaned myself up, washed my hair, bathed for what felt like an age, then started to drift off into a very dangerous sleep in the water when I gentle knock sounded on the door.
“You okay in there Chloe? Foods here.”
I jolted awake, ‘shit I could have drowned’ I thought as I hauled myself up from the fragrant water and wrapped a huge fluffy white towel around me. When I’d dried my skin, I left my wet hair up in a messy bun, draped a white robe around me and headed out into the living area.
“You look all cuddly and soft, can I sit by you?” Freddie asked cautiously. Normally he wouldn’t even ask, but I think after the events of the last few days he wasn’t quite sure where our relationship stood.
The tension radiating from Luca was palpable.
“Of course you can Hun.” I smiled at Freddie as he made himself comfortable next to me, pulling me into him then handing me a plate of very fancy looking burger and fries.
Luca’s phone started buzzing and he took the call, snarling down the phone at whoever had dared to interrupt him.
“His phone has been ringing off the hook all day.” Freddie told me as Luca whispered and hissed down the phone in-between bites of food.
“When can I go home?” I asked Freddie.
He nodded over to a table where I saw three passports sat, along with other papers.
“Is that mine?” I asked.
“Yeah, we found it in the suitcase you’d packed before you were…taken.”
I gulped down my mouthful of burger, my mouth suddenly going dry.
“I just want to go home.” I looked down at my feet and tried not to let the tears that were brimming in my eyes fall down my cheeks.
“It won’t be long now.” He gestured over to Luca who had his back to us and was standing out on the balcony. “He just needs to make sure all the loose ends are tied up. No fingerprints or anything that could tie you or us to all this. He’s looking out for you Chloe.”
“Bit too late for that.” I bit my lip as I instantly regretted saying it, but I couldn’t take it back and Luca had heard me. He was standing in the doorway of the balcony looking worn out.
“I took every precaution I could to protect you Chloe but I’m not God. I can’t see everything that’s gonna happen. Not when you go against me and let strangers into our home.”
