Daddy’s Billionaire Boss

Leaning in, I tucked her hair behind her ear as I gave her a swift kiss. “I gave my housekeeper the weekend off, but I bet I can rustle up breakfast,” I said. “Can you stay for the whole day?”
“Sure,” she smiled. “My reading and laundry can wait.”
Taking her hand, I slipped her fingers between mine. “Will you stay the night again?” I asked softly. “It felt so good sleeping with you in my arms.”
Realizing that my speech patterns were flipping back and forth between my usual professional demeanor and a lovestruck teenager, I was relieved when Emily grinned.
“Sure, I can stay over again.”
“Perfect,” I smiled.
A buzzing noise made Emily jump. “It’s just the gate,” I explained.
I hurried to the front door, checked the security camera, then opened the gate to allow a car to drive in. I looked back to see Emily peeking curiously out of the kitchen door frame.
I gathered the bags from the porch, hauling everything into the foyer.
“What was that?” Emily asked.
“Shopping from one of my personal assistants,” I explained, holding a light pink bag out to her.
“What…for me?”
“Yes. I was hoping that you’d stay all day. So I checked the sizes of your dress and shoes, and had Tanya pick up some comfortable clothing for you. There should be pajamas, yoga pants, some loose fitting dresses, and a fancier dress if you’d like to go out to dinner tonight.”
I waved to the other bags. “Lingerie, slippers, shoes, a new toothbrush, and some girly soap things.”
Emily laughed so hard she snorted. “Girly soap things?”
“I told her to get whatever you might need for your face and hair and whatever,” I said, waving vaguely at the fancy metallic bag covered in European logos.
Giving her the lightest bags, I carried the rest up to the bedroom with her. Setting a tiny bag on the bedside table, I brought the rest to the large double doors at the end of the room.
Guiding her into the walk-in closet, I gestured to the empty wall. “My clothing is pretty minimal, so I’ve had no reason to take up the entire space. The entire left side of the bathroom drawers are empty as well. How about you make yourself at home, and I’ll attempt to make scrambled eggs?”
Emily set the bags down, walking toward me as she cupped my face in her hands. “Thank you, Mason,” she said softly. “I’ve never had anyone go to such trouble to make me feel comfortable.”
Taking her hands, I kissed each palm, then her forehead. “Emily, you’re mine. I’m yours. I want you to have absolutely every creature comfort possible.”
“I don’t know what to say,” she breathed. “Thank you.”
“Just promise me you’ll come running if you hear me swearing,” I said. “That would be code for, ‘I burned the eggs’.”
“Always a good idea to test the smoke detectors,” she grinned.
Kissing the top of her hair, I left her alone so that she could organize her new things. I also wanted her to know that I trusted her completely. If she wanted to go prowling through my dresser drawers, or look for any clues about me, she was welcome to. I had nothing to hide.
If my heart belonged to her now, so did my home. My cars. My companies. Everything I had.
It was much too early to start saying such things aloud, but having her take over half of the closet was definitely a first step in telling her she belonged with me permanently.

After dinner, I realized that I had just experienced the most important Saturday of my entire life. There was no other way to describe it.
