Perfect Strangers

“Do not push this Casper thing, Victoria. Not now. Myla ran away from here because of him, the last thing we need is a massive showdown before Grace’s big day,” he said sternly, slamming the crystal glasses back into the cupboard.
“Myla and Casper are destined to be together, Stan. We all know that and now Darcy is no longer on the scene, this is my chance to get them back together,” she replied, turning around to face him.
“Are you out of your damned mind woman? Our daughter is here with her fiancé, a man she loves and plans to marry and you’re standing here talking about pushing her back into that piece of shit’s arms again?” He asked incensed, slamming down the towel, and boring his anger-filled eyes down on her.
“You know, Victoria, I’ve had you pegged for many things over the years but a complete moron, was never one of them!”
Her bottom lip quivered and her head shrunk into her shoulders. “Stanley,” she gasped placing her palm to her chest. She had seen him angry on numerous occasions over the years, but never like this. He looked wild with rage, his forehead held a sheen of moisture amongst his frowning creases, his puffy cheeks were bright red and he stood frantically rubbing his hand roughly through his greying hair.
“Don’t you Stanley me. How could you sit there and bring up her past with Rhett sitting next to her? If I was like my father, Victoria? I’d be knocking you into next week by now!”
Her pinched eyes went wide as each word he spat her way was laced with venom and conviction. Without giving her chance to respond, he cracked his knuckles, turned, and stormed from the kitchen.
“Rhett,” he called, spotting the figure of Kai up ahead in the hallway. When he didn’t respond, Stan tried again. “Rhett,” he repeated but still Kai didn’t respond as he continued walking.
Heaving a sigh, Stanley broke out into a small jog to catch up with him. “Rhett,” he gasped, out of breath, clamping a chubby hand on Kai’s arm, startling him.
“Hey, Stan. Everything okay?” he asked turning around quickly, surprise sat prominently on his face as he watched Stan heave through puffed cheeks.
Swatting his hand in front of himself, he grunted before nodding his head. “Didn’t you hear me? I’ve called you several times?”
Kai let out a nervous laugh and he clamped a hand on Stan’s shoulder, “I’m so sorry, I was miles away, is everything okay?”
Looking around studiously, Stan turned back and fixed his gaze at Kai, motioning for him to follow, where he led him underneath the grand staircase in the foyer. “Listen, word of advice, Victoria is hell bent on getting Myla and Casper back together. You keep Myla close, do not give Casper an inch, because if you do, she will slip through your fingers quicker than you can blink,” he whispered.
Kai remained motionless letting Stan’s words float around in his head. Scratching at the light stubble on his chin, he shrugged his shoulders. “If Myla loves him enough to leave me for him, how do I stop her?”
“You will find a way to keep her close, Rhett. Do whatever it takes to keep her away from his clutches, if you love her it will be easy,” he whispered.
Kai ran his hand through his dark hair and heaved out a sigh while he thought about how much more this whole fake fiancé gig was becoming. I need to speak to Myla and find out her true feelings for this Casper.
“Well?” Stan demanded emitting a stern look towards Kai.
“Sure, Stan,” Kai replied forcing a smile.
“Good. Now the other thing I need to talk to you about,” he stopped before looking around again. Seeing the coast was clear he turned back towards Kai, “at some point bef
ore you leave, I need some of your expert advice.” Momentarily closing his eyes, Kai slightly shook his head. A sudden sense of dread filled his entire being. He knew what was coming before Stan even opened his mouth. “I need advice on what that bitch will be entitled to, when I file for divorce,” he said with anger pouring through his tone.
“Stan, I can—”
“Sssh for crying out loud, lower your tone. It’s your first night here, I’m just giving you a head’s up; but we will be having this conversation before you leave.” Smiling he patted Kai’s shoulder and strode away, leaving Kai stood rooted to the spot, completely bewildered.
This is such bullshit! Forcing his legs to finally move from their spot, Kai raced up the stairs, along the hallway and barged through the bedroom door expecting to see Myla, but the room was empty. Turning around, he slammed the door shut and ripped his shirt from his chest, with such force the buttons popped and catapulted around the room.
“A fucking lawyer, this is utter shit. I can’t do this,” he growled lowly as he flung his shoes from his feet in anger. Unbuckling his trousers, he let them fall to his feet and kicked them away, then marched towards the bathroom. Pushing the door open, he was met with the sound of water running from the shower and the room filled heavily with steam. “Myla?” He called out, but received no answer. He called out again a second time, but still no answer. Shrugging, he removed his boxer shorts and climbed into the shower.
Lathering up the shampoo, his mind drifted towards Stan. Divorce? What do I know about divorce? I need to get the hell out of dodge and get home. Sod the art studio, one lie is turning into another. Oh, my God, why did I agree to this? Preoccupied with his thoughts, he didn’t hear the shower door open, he wasn’t aware of the naked female standing next to him, that was until his elbow collided with her back. A shriek flew from her mouth at the same time a low growl fell from his. “What the hell are you doing?” She cried.
“What are you doing, more like?” He snapped.
Turning around to face her, he ran his hands over his face and smirked, his eyes raked up and down over her naked body. A small gurgle of appreciation reverberated in his mouth when his eyes finally met with the swell of her breasts. Her long dark hair hung heavy with water as tendrils sat over the peaks, hiding her nipples. A sharp gasp left her mouth and she immediately clamped her arm across herself and her other hand reached downwards to cover her modesty. His eyes stayed glued to her, he could feel all the blood rushing to his dick as it twitched to life, his breathing became baited, and there he stood, in all his glory, unashamed.
Divert your eyes Kai, you’re acting like a pervert. He felt the searing sting of her palm when it met with his left cheek, his head jutted sideways at colossal speed, his eyes rolled backwards, and his vision blurred. He let out a deep grunt, bringing his hand up to his heated cheek to try and alleviate the throbbing. “Fuck, Juliet. You pack a punch,” he grunted, his erection quickly dissolving.
“That’s nothing, you little pervert. Leer over me like that again and I’ll gouge those fucking eyes from your skull.”
“Really? Well you were the one climbing in the shower with me, so what does that make you, huh?” He snarled. She pushed open the shower door and disappeared into to the mist of steam. Quickly washing the shampoo from his hair, he switched off the water and left the cubicle, looking around wildly, trying to pierce his sight through the steam. Where are the towels? Shit!
