“So, everybody pair up,” shouted Fabio and wiped the perspiration from his forehead with a towel. Kai immediately felt Myla move away from him and walk towards her bag, bending down she retrieved a water bottle and poised a hand on her hip as she slugged from it.

“I’m intrigued by what the hell Myla sees in you,” Casper growled coming to a standstill at Kai’s side.

“What do you mean by that bullshit statement, Casper?”

“Well,” he replied with a shrug of his shoulders, “you don’t seem her type, the way she is with you, seems …Uhm… forced.”

“And what would you know, huh? You ran off with her best friend and left her broken-hearted by all accounts, maybe she fancied a change from the scum she was so used to?” Kai spat. He turned to face him, he reared his shoulders back, and stood tall, his body oozed dominance.

Kai watched as Casper seemed to shrink slightly under his looming presence. Blowing out an exaggerated sigh, Casper’s lips reverberated against each other before he chuckled, “This is going to be one hell of an interesting wedding, don’t you think?” Before Kai had chance to respond, the music came pouring through the speakers and like shit off a shovel, Casper made his move. Kai watched bewildered as Casper raced over to Myla, grabbed hold of her and began gyrating his body up against her then attempted to move her around the studio floor.

Rubbing his hands over his face slowly, Kai jumped back in fright at the sight of Victoria’s sudden appearance in his face. “You’re with me, Stanley is taking a break. Salsa was never his forte,” she barked.

Wonderful, just what I need. The witch and her broomstick! Twisting his neck, he scanned around the room. He spotted Myla embroiled in some heated exchange with Casper as he continued to try and fling her around the room.

“Well, don’t just stand there,” snapped Victoria, holding out her bony hand.

“Fine!” He grabbed Victoria’s hand and keeping her at arm’s length practically spun the old bat off her feet to get closer to Myla.

“You’ve got some fucking nerve, Casper,” Myla seethed. Kai swung Victoria around under his arm and crashed her body, purposely, into Casper.

“Dear God, Rhett, can’t you be a bit more careful, are you trying to put me in hospital?” she asked. Holding on to her shoulder, she battled to remain her regal composure.

“Now there’s a thought,” muttered Kai.

“Get your damn hands off me, Casper.” Myla growled lowly as she tried to push him from her personal space. He wasn’t letting go of her easily, and continued to grip her arm.

“Please. Myla, I need to talk to you, I need to apologize, I’m sorry, so sorry.”

Seeing the anguish on Myla’s face, Kai pushed Victoria out the way with one swoop of his arm and grabbed Casper with his other. “You heard her, she said let go of her.” Kai snarled, louder than he intended, he caught Myla recoil slightly through his peripheral when he balled his fists in Casper’s t-shirt.

Smiling, Casper dropped Myla’s arm and held his palms up above his head in mock surrender. “It’s cool dude, I only want to talk to her,” he stated loudly for everyone to hear.

Pulling him closer to him, he leant down to his ear and lowered his tone. “Put your hands on her again, dude, and I’ll make sure those hands of yours are in casts before Grace’s wedding.”

“You seem threatened by me, Rhett. Now isn’t that a glorious sight.” Casper scoffed.

“Threatened? I’m not threatened by you. Your presence here is not welcome and you’re upsetting Myla. So, do us all a favor and clear off.”

Casper glanced at Myla who was stood staring at Kai in awe, then at Victoria, who looked like she was on the verge of tears, before finally looking back at Kai. “Sure, I’ll go, but this isn’t the last you’ve seen of me, I need to talk to Myla. We have unfinished business.” He smirked and yanked Kai’s fists from his t-shirt then walked towards the door.

“You and I, Myla, will always be unfinished business,” Casper stated as he barged angrily through the door.

CHAPTER NINETEEN

Myla left the cubicle and rinsed her hands under the faucet, with her hands together she scooped up the water and splashed it over her face, welcoming the harsh coldness against the heat of her skin. Who did Casper think he was? Shit bag. God, Kai looks so sexy when he’s mad. Kai looks good naked too. A small cough caught her attention, turning her head slightly she caught the outline of Grace stood next to her. She placed a hand on her back and gently rubbed up and down. “I’m so sorry, M. I didn’t think he would be coming today.”

Splashing another handful of water on her face, she turned off the faucet and grabbed some paper tissue, dabbing her face she turned to look at her. “Why did he feel the need to turn up like that? If I knew he was coming I could have mentally prepared myself for it, but to have him turn up in my face like that, was gut-wrenching, Grace.”

“Jack said he came to talk to you, he wants to put things right and apologize,” she replied with a shrug of her shoulders.

“It’s too shitting late for that, that should have been done years ago, he ruined my trust in other men, in fact he ruined absolutely everything to do with men for me,” she snapped viciously as she tossed the tissue into the bin.

“I don’t know about that. You have one hell of a man out there who obviously thinks the world of you to take on Casper like that.”

It’s not real, he’s not mine. “Yes, I suppose,” she shrugged.

“I suppose? Did your eyes witness the same things as mine? The man had him pinned to the wall, he threatened him for you. You’re lucky sister, Casper pales in comparison. Come on, father wants you.” She smiled and kissed Myla’s cheek. “I love you, M, don’t forget that,” she whispered as they made their way back to the studio floor.
