Placing the ear buds back into his ears he switched on his iPod and left the confines of the bar.

Bowling through the back door on uneasy legs and panting like a bitch, he came face to face with her, the witch. Ignoring her, he grabbed a glass from the side and filled it up with water and stood slugging it back under her piercing glare.
“Did you enjoy your run?” She asked stiffly.
He gave her a curt nod before swilling the glass and dropping it in the sink, with a loud clatter. “Is Myla still upstairs?”
“No, she went out about half an hour ago,” she replied with a wicked sneer curled on to her pinched face.
Kai felt his stomach coil up at the way she had said it. “Where did she go?”
“She’s gone to The Shack for lunch,” she replied curtly. “With Casper.” Her eyes lit up and her curled sneer bloomed into a wide toothy grin.
She’s met up with that wanker? He gripped on to the kitchen sink as he felt all the air in his lungs leave in one long strangulated gasp. He closed his eyes when the room slightly swayed as Casper’s ugly mug flashed into his head. ‘Myla and I will always be unfinished business.’ Those last words Casper had said before leaving the dance studio, echoed around in his foggy brain. I’m not having this. I’m not losing her before I’ve even had the chance to call her mine. Snapping his eyes open, he cut the witch a deathly stare and strode from the room. Taking the stairs two at a time and as anger erupted through his body, he muttered obscenities.
“Oh, hey dude, are you okay?” Jack asked when he met him at the top of the landing.
“No. Myla is out with Casper. I need to get to The Shack, wherever the fuck that is. I can’t stop.” Pulling his top free from his body, he headed towards the bedroom.
“You have five minutes, Rhett. Hurry up and I’ll drop you there.”
After the quickest shower known to mankind, Kai was dressed in a loose button down black shirt with a pair of faded ripped denim jeans, and was now stood outside The Shack looking in covertly. It didn’t take him long to seek her out, and sure as hell, she was sat opposite the toss pot, Casper. You’ve got this Kai. Blowing out a large breath through puffed cheeks, he yanked open the door, nearly ripping it from its hinges and stomped over to the table. Her cheeks grew flushed and her mouth dropped open when she clocked him heading towards them. As he came to a stop at the table he grabbed her hand and pulled her to her feet.
“Rhett!” Was all she managed to say before he placed his hand at the back of her head and pulled her close. Wordlessly, his mouth closed over hers and he kissed her with such a hunger, her body grew slack in his hold and she melted into him. He heard her whimper quietly when he broke their kiss. Smiling, he dragged his thumb over her bottom lip causing her to moan. Feeling slightly more content knowing he did indeed have some effect over her, he forcefully pushed her back down into the chair and took up the empty seat between the two of them.
Turning his attention towards Casper, he narrowed his eyes and strummed his fingers on the table. “You care to tell me what the fuck you’re doing here with my fiancée?”
“I told you, we have unfinished business,” Casper replied nonchalantly.
“Well, come on then, spill your guts, then when you’re done, you get the fuck up from this table and you walk away. If I catch you anywhere near Myla again, you’ll regret it,” Kai threatened in a deep gruff.
Casper snorted and rolled his eyes.
“Rhett,” said Myla. She clamped her hand on top of Kai’s and gave him a questioning look.
“Funny, when we were in bed this morning, you never mentioned you were meeting up with this waste of space,” said Kai turning his attention towards Myla.
“It was unexpected, and to be honest, I thought I was meeting Grace. Mother said she wanted to meet me here for lunch.”
“Ah, so it was a set up?” He questioned then turned again, towards Casper, “I suppose you’re in cahoots’ with the devil herself, too, then?”
“Look all I’m asking for is half an hour to explain, I just want to speak to Myla. This was the only way I could get her away from you,” he replied in a growl of his own.
Kai snorted. “Well, that backfired. You’ve got five minutes.”
Casper reared his head back. “You’re a prick.” Standing up harshly he headed towards the men’s room.
Ignoring him, Kai began lazily tracing circles on Myla’s wrist and he watched her closely. Her eyes were fixated on his finger as it trailed up her arm. He noticed her tremble slightly and she pursed her lips and closed her eyes. Leaning in towards her, he whispered in her ear. “You have two choices, Juliet. You stay here and hear him out, or you leave right now, with me.”
“You read everything wrong this morning, Kai. I didn’t regret our kiss last night, I regretted my behavior, I was mortified over being so out of it, that I threw myself at you like that. It’s not in my nature to behave that way.” she replied sternly.
“I apologize, I acted like a dick. Forgive me?” He questioned. He dropped his hand to her thigh and gently squeezed. She nodded her head and squirmed, clamping her legs shut tightly. He could feel the heat radiating from her body as his hand stroked up and down her thigh. Go easy Kai, it’s been eight years remember. Removing his hand from her thigh he cupped her face, her skin was on fire and her breathing had become heavy. Moving her eyes up to meet his, he watched them glaze over and she pulled in her bottom lip between her teeth. “Myla,” he whispered, “are you staying or coming?” Please say you’ll leave with me.
Yanking her head back from his hold, she forcefully pushed back her chair and stood up sharply. “I’m coming,” she said with a coy smile before waltzing away.
“Juliet, you have no idea how much you’ll be coming once I get you home.” He muttered as a feeling of jubilation soared through his veins.
