He smirked as he drank in her beauty. “Well, if you can still remember your name, my job here is not done,” he whispered and leaning in, he placed a chaste kiss against her lips. Scooping down he cupped her ass in his hands and lifted her up, she instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him with a new-found passion that she didn’t even know she had inside of her.
CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
Rolling over on to her stomach, Myla let out a deep sigh of satisfaction. Her lips veered upwards into a great big shit-eating grin as the memories of the day before with Kai came into the forefront of her mind, before her eyes had even had chance to open. Her grin soon turned into a deep chuckle, she waved her fist in the air and let out a small whoop as she rolled herself around on the bed, thrashing her legs around, like a child. Her happy demeanor soon faltered when she suddenly found herself balancing on the edge of the bed, and unable to stop hers
elf in time, fell head first to the floor with a deep resounding thud. Shit!
She suddenly realized Kai wasn’t in the bed next to her. Slowly peering her eyes over the surface of the mattress, she scanned the room. Nothing. No Kai. Just silence. Feeling deflated, she stood up and grabbed the tangled sheet from the floor, and wrapping it around her naked body, she headed towards the en-suite. After tying her hair up and brushing her teeth she turned around and noticed the bath was full of water, with petals floating on the top. Walking closer, her attention was drawn to a message scrawled on the white ceramic tiles that surrounded the bath, in what looked like her black eye liner. Ran you a bath, enjoy. K x
Smiling, she skimmed her hand along the top, the water was only tepid so it probably had been standing for a while. Dropping the sheet from her body, she climbed in and relaxed, automatically closing her eyes. Her mind was awash with replays of Kai’s hands roaming freely around her body, the way he’d expertly removed her underwear with his teeth, and the way he had spent hours and hours devoting every ounce of his attention on her, refusing to let her touch him.
She let out a loud sigh. He had kept his promise, he had taken her to that euphoric state repeatedly, with his mouth, his tongue, and his fingers, until she could no longer remember where she was, let alone remember her own name. He had awakened her, he’d stirred something inside of her that had made her feel alive, made her feel wanted, made her feel like, in that moment, she was the only woman in the world. Now she was left with a yearning, a heated desire to have him.
A loud laugh jolted her from her day-dreaming. Quickly standing up she climbed from the bath, grabbed a towel and half dried herself, ramming a vest top and shorts on, she hurriedly left the bedroom. Out on the landing, she was met with the dull thud of music and a joyous round of laughter. What in hell? Creeping down the stairs, she walked bare foot through the hallway towards the kitchen. She heard a female cackle followed by a deep laugh. Coming to a sudden standstill in the doorway, she blinked rapidly, her eyes taking in the sight before her, the sight her brain was trying hard to comprehend.
Every item of the Fox’s bar was out all over kitchen work surfaces, alongside full and half full cocktail glasses of various colored liquids. Her father was sat red-faced and laughing jovially, swaying on the bar stool, and clapping and jeering. Grace was cackling wildly as Jack twirled her around in the middle of the kitchen, leaning in and kissing her every time her face passed his. Myla’s eyes were drawn to the open French doors, where she spotted Fabio in a world of his own as he strutted his derrière along the patio, holding a glass of bright red liquid above his head. What the fuck is this?
Then time seemed to stand still when her eyes honed in on the one sight she never thought she’d see again. Her mother was laughing, her whole face was alight with sheer radiance while she danced and slugged back the bright green liquid in her cocktail glass. Myla was instantly transported back to a time when she was younger, a time when her mother could be fun, a time when her mother laughed a lot, but that was a time before things changed between them. A time Myla refused to acknowledge.
Her breath hitched in her throat when it registered what was so odd about the scene before her, at the end of her mother’s hand was Kai. He was laughing and pulling her into him before pushing her away again, twirling her under his arm, and she was loving it. Did I die and wake up in the wrong house? She stood rooted to the spot as she watched her mother wink and grab Kai’s cheek, playfully tugging it, he responded to her with a lopsided grin and a wink of his own. As she watched her mother, she could feel the heavy weight of a pair of eyes boring into her. With trepidation, she moved her focus slightly and found Kai, staring straight at her, as though he was seeing her for the first time.
His eyes clouded over and he pulled in his bottom lip as their eyes locked on each other. She felt the eruption of fire blaze through her body when he continued to eye fuck her across the room. Leaning into her mother’s ear, he whispered something causing her to shriek with laughter, then she hollered to Stanley to take Kai’s place. Surprisingly, Stan rubbed his hands gleefully before jumping to his feet and sliding his arms around Victoria’s waist.
Kai was in front of her within seconds, his eyes still pinned to hers. “What the hell is going on?” She asked through a strangled gasp.
Pulling her in close with his hand-held firm at the back of her neck, he claimed her mouth with his in a slow, heated kiss that had her panting for breath when he broke away. She closed her eyes, her finger unsteadily traced lightly over her bottom lip where he’d left his imprint. “Good afternoon, Juliet,” he whispered.
“Afternoon?”
“Yes, it’s nearly 3pm.”
“Oh, my God. Why didn’t you wake me?”
“Is that a trick question?” He asked with a laugh as he tilted his head to one side. “I figured you’d need to sleep as long as possible given what I put your mind, body and soul through yesterday.”
She didn’t reply, she just stood staring at him with a smile twitching at the corner of her mouth. She reached out and lightly ran her hand over his stubbled jaw, he inhaled sharply and nuzzled against her hand.
“Myla, darling, get in here with that fine man of yours and come and join the fun!” Victoria wailed.
Dropping her hand from Kai’s jaw, she peered around his upper body to see her mother and father gyrating up against each other in a public display of vulgarity. “Okay, who are you and what have you done with my parents?” She hissed through gritted teeth bringing her face back to look at him.
“I’m Kai, and your parents are there, right in front of you,” he whispered sarcastically with a smirk.
“Oh, ha, ha,” she mocked, taking a step away from him.
“Did you know, Juliet, that apparently, the moaning coming from your mouth last night, kept most of the house awake?”
Her eyes widened and her face went bright pink, she clamped her palm over her mouth and shook her head in shock. “Please tell me you’re kidding?” She mumbled, mortified.
Reaching out he grabbed her hand from her mouth and pulled her too him. Turning her around he pinned her to the wall. “I kid you not. Have I told you how incredibly attractive I find you when you’re embarrassed, Myla?”
She gasped and closed her eyes when his tongue slid out and delicately traced along the outside of her ear. “What are you doing to me, Kai?” She whispered, her voice shaky and uneven.
“Honestly, I don’t know, but I guarantee you, whatever it is, it’s having the same effect on me.” He brushed his hand over her collarbone, kissed her neck then moved away from her.
Another shriek resounded from the lounge causing Myla to wince. “Are you going to tell me what’s happening through there?” She hissed.
“Jack got a call this morning, the cocktail maker they hired for the wedding has cancelled, he’s come down with food poisoning, despite his best efforts, he couldn’t find anyone else at such short notice, so I stepped in and offered to do it.”
