Devil in a Suit

I hadn’t seen Sara much. I heard that she took a day off, which I assumed was used to pout. She hadn’t been the best sport since Madison’s idea was chosen. Instead of putting the good of the company first, Sara only cared about her own ego. My company didn’t have room for such people, and I wouldn’t miss her when her internship ended. I didn’t even care if that made me sound like a jerk. Sara acted as entitled and selfish as Brandon, and she left a bad taste in my mouth. I had no idea how she forced her way into my internship program, but I was going to make sure that Brittany didn’t approve any person like her for future internships. They weren’t good for my company.
A nervous expression-filled Madison’s face as she nodded. “I hope it works out well. I felt confident when I came up with the idea, but now that you’re actually using it, I don’t even know how I feel about it anymore,” she admitted to me.
Anxiety and doubt were normal things to feel when it came to business. I felt them all the time, and if she was going to venture into the world of business after college, she would become even more familiar with those feelings. It just showed that she cared about what she was doing. That was her biggest strength.
“It’s a great idea, and you’re going to come up with plenty of them. Don’t doubt yourself so much,” I told her as I brushed my fingers through her hair. “You’re your own worst enemy.”
Madison laughed a little at that. “That seems to apply,” she told me. “I held myself back from telling you how I felt.”
My own doubt was the reason for many of my missed opportunities and shortcomings. I didn’t explore risks or take many chances because of my doubt, my fear of failure. I knew that would never fully go away, but at least now I had a person in my corner to encourage me to fight against my own fears.
“But we’re still here,” I said, letting my fingers slip out of her soft hair. Despite all of the obstacles that we faced, especially when we first met, we still made it to this point. Finally, I felt like I was right where I needed to be.
Madison leaned her forehead against mine, letting her eyes flutter shut as she smiled.
“And I have quite the catch,” she said as she trailed her fingers up my chest.
I couldn’t deny her if I tried. I leaned forward and captured her lips, letting some of my control fall away as her mouth parted to fit with mine. It was a perfect fit. My lips pushed and brushed against hers in our own rhythm, creating friction and heat. The whole room started to feel hot as our hands started to move as much as our mouths.
Madison’s fingers teased at the top button of my dress shirt, pulling on it slightly like she wanted to undo it.
I slid my hands down her sides, curving over her hips and along the outside of her thighs. Her body was so perfect, so delectable in my hands. I wanted to push her down on my desk and yank her skirt up. My hands itched to tear at her clothes, but I didn’t just want the pleasure of being with her. I wanted to feel close to her, to feel her warm skin against mine.
“I want you all the time. Every damn second,” I breathed against her lips as my fingers caressed the back of her thigh before drifting along the curve of her perfect ass. Right now, I wished that I had eight hands so that I could feel all over her.
“You can have me anytime,” Madison said as she fisted my shirt, making the material strain in her grip. She placed one hand on my belt, teasing at the buckle.
I squeezed my eyes shut for a second, scrambling for some sense of control. I wanted to do things right. After everything that she had accomplished lately, she deserved to be wined and dined. Then, I could make her writhe in pleasure on my bed.
“After we go out and celebrate tonight,” I told her as I broke from the kiss, still keeping close to her. “Then, I’m going to take you back to my place and have my way with you.”
A sultry smile crossed Madison’s face as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
“Sounds like a plan,” she said, looking excited.
I pressed one more deep kiss against her lips before pulling away and grabbing my things. I slipped my coat on and met her at the door of my office, sharing a grin with her. No matter what we were doing, we were going to have a good time together tonight.
