“Ouch.” Gavin pulls back, rubbing his ear that I shouted into. I can’t help it. I jump up and down with excitement, clapping my hands. They have been trying for almost a year now and finally!

“We’re having babies together.” My eyes start to water.

The door flies open with Major storming in. “Why are you screaming?” He rushes over to me, his hands going everywhere. “Is it the baby?”

Tears leak down my face. “Gavin’s having a baby,” I rush to tell him because my husband looks as though he is about to have a meltdown thinking something is wrong with me.

He smiles. “Happy tears?”

I nod. His face fills with relief.

“Julia is pregnant too!” I blurt out. I throw my hand over my mouth. I can’t believe I let the cat out of the bag. What is wrong with me? “Dang it! I just wanted to be the first to know something for once.” As mad as I am about spilling the beans on that one I can’t help the joy that fills me. Our family was growing. I had no idea when Major’s arrogant ass walked into my store with that horrible sweater on what I was in for. He may be arrogant but you know what, he kind of has a reason to be. He’s why we are all bound together.

Major pulls my hand down from my mouth. “I love you,” I tell him before his mouth meets mine and we’re kissing. I moan into his mouth.

“Why do you guys do this shit?” My brother’s voice breaks me from the moment.

“Love you too,” he says against my mouth, ignoring my brother like normal. “Julia won’t be mad at you for spilling. I’ll act surprised.” I know she won’t but still. I’ll blame it on the pregnancy and apparently my sassy side effects. Their mom is going to be the most fun to tell. I had a feeling it wouldn’t take Julia long to get knocked up. Her wedding ring is one I also had the pleasure of crafting. Her husband had approached me saying he wanted something made with love. I knew that he was her forever so I agreed to make it. Major had put up a small fight over it but once he saw how much they were in love he sat in my workshop like he often does at home and watched me craft the ring that his sister will wear for the rest of her life.

He’d been so right about love that first day that I’d let him into my shop to watch me work. The man who I thought didn’t understand the love I put into crafting my jewelry taught me about love with his own words. That it can come in so many different ways and forms. Some take time to grow while others happen in the blink of an eye. No matter how it comes, it is always priceless.
