Emmy may have been my one-time love, but Kitty, she’s my soulmate, the person who has put me back together and loved me through all of my faults.
Now it’s time for us to move on from her addiction and my loss, and with each of us there to support the other, I know that we can tackle anything.
I push the last box into my truck and turn around, taking one last look at the cottage that I called home for the last four years. I’ve had so many good memories living here, knowing that all of my family are on the same compound and feeling safer than I ever thought possible.
Being a part of this manmade family is more than I could have ever hoped for, but meeting Charlie, that was the icing on the cake.
I never thought I’d meet anyone like him. He’s stuck by me all throughout my addiction, and since I’ve been home, he’s been exactly what I needed him to be. He hasn’t treated me any differently and now, two months later, we’re moving in together and starting fresh.
A door slamming gains my attention and I swing my head to Evan’s cabin, watching as Geena comes storming out.
“You’re fucking useless! Why the fuck I put up with you I don’t know!”
“Geena,” he pleads.
I frown at them, and when he gets to her, he tries to touch her arm but she pushes him away, making him stumble before his eyes widen.
“Don’t fucking touch me!”
“Hey!” I shout, moving in their direction but one look from Evan and a quick shake of his head has me coming to a halt.
She slams the car door shut and speeds out of the compound, the gates opening for her just as Charlie pulls inside them.
“Evan?”
“Not now, Kitty,” he sighs, his head looking at the ground and his shoulders slumping down as he walks back into his cabin.
I stare at the door he just disappeared through, worrying my lip as I try to decide what to do. I’ve never seen her act like that, especially toward Evan and I can’t help but think that something is going on.
“Hey, baby,” Charlie’s sweet voice whispers in my ear.
His arms wrap around me from behind and I turn my head to look up at him. His lips come down on mine in a gentle kiss before he spins me around, backing me against the side of my car and lifting me up.
My legs wrap around him automatically.
“I missed you,” he groans, grinding his hips into mine.
“It’s been two hours.” I chuckle, then close my eyes against the sensations shooting through me.
“Two hours too long,” he growls, diving for my lips again. I open my mouth, giving him access to me and reaching up, gripping his hair as he fucks my mouth with his tongue.
I just can’t hold back whenever I’m near her because she makes me feel like a horny teenager.
Feeling her core pressed against my dick has me wanting to rip her clothes off her body and lick her all over, to make her squirm until she’s begging me to be inside her.
“Charlie,” she groans. “We need to go.”
I pull away from her lips and rest my forehead against hers, needing to catch my breath. This beautiful, amazing, kickass woman is all mine and I can’t believe that I finally get to live with her.
After our conversation at rehab, I knew that I couldn’t ask her to move into my place, there were too many memories there of Emmy. Even though it made me sad to close the door on that chapter, I knew I needed to so that I could move on, with Kitty.
We needed a fresh start and as soon as I got back from rehab, I was on a mission to get us a house.
It took me a few weeks to find the perfect place. Somewhere that I can build us a gym, somewhere with enough land for Kitty to plant as many flowers as she wants, and most importantly, somewhere that we can grow old together, because that’s exactly what we will be doing.
I want to be with her when we’re both old and gray, skin wrinkled but the same love for each other in our heart and souls.
“You ready, baby?” I ask as I let her down.
