A Song That Never Ends (Broken Love Duet 3) - Page 46

“Bluebird?”

She closes her eyes and puffs out a breath of air. “Don’t stop….”

It’s just two words. Two words that make me close my eyes in relief. I slide back down, flattening my tongue and delving back between the lips of her pussy. I look up, still teasing her clit with my tongue. I want to see her and when I find her heavy-lidded eyes staring straight at me, I push two of my fingers inside of her. Immediately, she squeezes down on them, tightening as I begin tunneling in and out of her. I use my tongue to lap at her, drinking her down as I go. She’s so fucking wet. My hand shakes as I pick up my speed, fucking her hard with my fingers all while alternating between sucking her clit and licking her pussy like a man dying and her juicy cunt being the only cure. I grind my face hard against her, eating her with an urgency that I would have never dared before. I can feel that she’s close to shattering. I capture her clit again humming at the taste of her. Her body tightens, and I know she’s about to go over the edge. I don’t stop what I’m doing, but I look up so I can see her face the exact moment she comes. I watch, as surprise and then complete and unreserved pleasure washes over her.

“Reed!” she cries out loudly as she falls over the cliff. It’s a sound I immediately want again, and one I’ll never forget as long as I live.

CHAPTER 34

Callie

I wouldn’t say I black out, but my orgasm was so intense that it felt like I was going to. When I finally settle back down, Reed has me in his arms, my head resting against his chest, and I feel his hand rubbing my back comfortingly. I keep my eyes closed for a minute just enjoying this feeling. It’s something that I thought I would never get back. I don’t know how long it will last, but I’m going to savor every minute of it.

“You okay, Bluebird?” Reed asks. I can hear the laughter he’s holding back, but it’s more than that. I can hear his happiness. That unleashes this warmth inside of me that fires through every synapse I have.

“I’m just trying to recover from the orgasm that the great country music troubadour, Ryker Lane, just gave me,” I joke—still not finding the energy to look up at Reed. I squeak as he rolls me over without warning. When I manage to open my eyes and focus, Reed’s face is so close to mine I can feel his breath against my lips. “Reed?” I question when it’s apparent he has something on his mind. His eyes are overly passionate—but not in a sexual way. Still, for some strange reason, I’m not afraid. You would think a woman with my history would be terrified with the sudden change of position and the burning intensity that’s coming from him. I’m not, though. Reed would never hurt me. Never. I know that above anything else. If I hadn’t forced him to leave me five years ago, I think he’d still be here living a life with me and yet never spreading his wings and finding success while reaching his dreams.

“Don’t do that, baby. With you—always with you—I’m just me. I’m Reed. The man who fell in love with you when he was a kid. The man who would cut off his arm to make sure you were safe and happy.”

I reach up and slide my hand against his face—a face that is so familiar and dear to me that I can’t swallow down the emotion that rises inside of me. “I know that, baby. I’ve always known that. You did your best to always put me first, even if it hurt you. You could have ruined your life for me.”

“You were my life, Callie,” he says, and he looks like he wants to say more, but he stops himself. I would like to hear what’s on his mind, but it’s probably best the words remain unspoken.

“Reed…”

He kisses my lips briefly and then rolls back over settling us back down. We lie in silence and I’m okay with that because my brain is in chaos.

“What’s on your mind, beautiful?” he asks, his voice lazy soft.

I don’t think we have enough time for me to tell him everything I’m thinking about. I pluck the very first thing that comes to mind. Maybe I shouldn’t, but it seems a safer topic than me telling him that I’m wishing that I’d been able to leave Macon with him—or that I hate that I’m not healed enough to follow him when he leaves this time.

I paste a smile on my face and turn so I can look at him. I flatten my palm out on his stomach and let it wander slowly downward. “I was thinking that you gave me an orgasm, but you didn’t ask for anything for yourself.”
