Arro threw her head back in a wicked cackle that made me laugh. “I love it! Yeah, we’re doing it. Double wedding.”
“Double wedding,” I agreed.
Her expression softened into such love, it made me hard again. “Just so you know, I’d marry you anywhere too. All I care about is us. I don’t care about the trimmings and trappings.”
“That’s why we’re perfect for each other.”
“We are, aren’t we?” She did a little shimmy on me that made me groan. She chuckled with delight. “It took us a while to get here, but we got here eventually. And soon”—she lifted her left hand to flash her engagement ring—“we’ll be forever.”
I shook my head as I used my training to take me to my feet without losing my hold on her. Arro wrapped her arms around my neck as I carried her into the bedroom and promised, “We already are forever.” I threw her on the bed, shrugging out of my jacket, preparing to show her what I planned forever to look like.
With her hair spilling across our pillows, her cheeks flushed with desire, and eyes bright with adoration, I honestly thought my heart might burst with gratitude as my future wife whispered fiercely, “It’s always been you, Mackennon. It always will be.”
