The Partner Dilemma

Chapter Four

My heart beats so loud, I’m sure everyone in the room can hear it. The sound of her sniffling has set all three of us in motion, but when we reach the bed, Kamden and Deklan both look at me. What do they want from me? I’ve always been better at the emotional stuff, but this is all new to me too.
I get on the bed beside her and take her left hand in mine, clasping it gently. Watching her, I see a tear track down her cheek.
“Please don’t cry. Nothing is wrong,” I say gently.
She turns her brown gaze toward me. Tears are still pooled in them as she quickly assesses me. Her eyes widen slightly before her gaze finally tracks to first Deklan, and then Kamden. Her eyes are as wide as saucers. I squeeze her hand in mine again to draw her attention back to me.
“Why don’t we head downstairs and talk for a while?” I ask. “You must have a lot of questions.”
She shakes her head but doesn’t look away from me.
“Nothing. Really?” Deklan asks, his deep voice rough in the quiet room.
The girl doesn’t look away from me as she answers. “I was taught to not ask questions. I am here to fulfill my duties and to make my Partner happy.” Her melodious voice washes over me.
I can see the rage as it crosses Kamden’s face, and I feel exactly the same way. Who the fuck has been around this woman, teaching her that she shouldn’t ask questions? That her happiness doesn’t matter?
“Hell no.” Kamden growls before picking her up off the bed.
Her entire body goes taut, but she doesn’t make a sound as he carries her into the walk-in closet.

The largest of the three men pulls me off the bed, cradling me against his chest as he walks toward a set of doors. He smells incredible as my cheek rests against his chest, even though he kind of terrifies me. When I came to this house today, I was expecting to meet my Partner, but I’m not sure which of the three men it is.
Gently, he lowers me down the front of his body. I can feel every muscle beneath his clothing, but the bulge in his jeans is the most prominent. He growls lowly as he holds me against his body, his warm hands resting on my naked hips. Slowly, he steps away, but his gaze never leaves me. He leisurely takes in my body from the top of my head to the tips of my toes and back up again until he reaches my eyes.
“Let’s get you some clothes.” His deep voice rumbles through the closet we are standing in.
He reaches out to the left and grabs a dark blue t-shirt. His smell envelopes me as he helps me into the shirt. Then he looks at me closely before nodding. Grabbing my hand, he pulls me from the closet and leads me out of the room. The other two men are no longer in the room, and I assume they have left. Maybe this man is my Partner?
After moving down the stairs, we enter the kitchen, and I can see I was wrong. The other two men have not left. I stand in this beautiful kitchen, wearing nothing but an oversized t-shirt, surrounded by three massive men.
