ChapterFive

Luca

Destiny was definitely on our side. From Angelina’s rooftop, I heard the conversation between her and her friend, Cassie. I particularly loved the fact she found us sexy and thought it was so sweet when she used both our names when telling her friend about us. It appeared our beautiful mate would be homeless soon, too. Everything was going in our favour. I couldn’t wait to have her living permanently with us.

“This is the best news we’ve had yet, Luca. Whether she’s in denial or not, she’s very attracted to us.”

I grinned at Sal’s words. “My thoughts too. It will be difficult keeping our hands to ourselves with her being so close, though.”

“After sharing a few more kisses, I don’t think it’ll take too long until we’re completely physical with her.”

Sal was right. Angelina had been so wet earlier that it was hard not to lengthen my fangs and sink them into her creamy flesh. I groaned and pushed at my erection. My cock was almost in a permanent state of arousal since meeting her.

“Me too, Luca. I’m going to head for the shower… a very cold shower. I’ll take over from you around midnight.”

Sunday. The only day I wasn’t required at the gallery. The owners had a son with an interest in art and was due to start a fine art course at uni the following year, so he usually worked on Sundays. Cassie and Jake were out for the day, probably buying new things for their home. I wondered which one of the brothers was on my rooftop. I stretched and yawned, heading for the kitchen. After looking in the fridge and cupboards, I realised I had enough food to cook breakfast for whoever was on duty.

I opened the kitchen window and stared upwards. “I’m on my own if you fancy coming in for breakfast.”

I moved away and left the window wide open. After grabbing items from the fridge, I began breakfast preparations. A gust of wind caught my attention, and when I turned to face the window, I gasped. Not one, but both brothers stood watching me. They were bare-chested and, wow. They were stunning. Perfectly sculpted chests, which I had the urge to run my hands and mouth all over.

My curiosity got the better of me. There was something I needed to ask them and wondered how they’d react to my question.

“Something on your mind, Angelina?” Luca’s mouth curved into a sexy grin.

A blush crept up my neck and smothered my face in a wave of heat. Each of the brothers studied me with interest, and I found it difficult to focus on anything but the hunger for me in their expressions.

“I want to see and touch your wings.” My voice was little more than a whisper.

As one, they came to me. I lowered my head with both embarrassment and arousal. If they looked too closely into my eyes, they would probably have been able to read my thoughts. Two fingers tipped my chin upwards. They did everything in perfect synchronisation with the other.

“Why do you blush, bella?”

I closed my eyes at Salvatore’s question, no longer able to meet their intense gazes. Keeping them shut, I spoke. Crazy, I know, but it gave me a little more courage.

“It’s a bit of a lame question.” I sighed.

“Not at all. Do you really wish to see them?”

Opening my eyes, I looked from one to the other. I nodded in response to Salvatore’s offer.

They each held a hand out to me and led me towards the open window.

“Where are we going?” I was fully aware I was still in my pyjamas, and it was cold outside.

“We are going to take you up to the roof. It’ll be a little difficult to unfurl our wings in your apartment. Not enough room,” Luca explained.

I quickly grabbed my dressing gown, which was hanging over one of the kitchen chairs, and stood by the window. My mouth opened wide as they leapt through it and hovered outside. Thank God no one would be able to see them. They looked magnificent. They held their hands out to me once more. With my body shaking, I went up onto the window ledge.

“Are you sure we can’t be seen?”

“Positive,” Salvatore assured me.

No sooner had I put my hands out to them, I found myself heading for the roof of the tenement building. I clung on for dear life, but I knew I was safe. These two beautiful creatures would never let any harm come to me. When we reached the roof, they lowered me down safely. They stood directly in front of me, their stunning wings spread wide. I was struck dumb and almost blinded by how magnificent they looked. Their wings were the same shade as their hair.

“Can I touch them?” I requested shyly.

“Of course.” Luca smiled at me.

With shaky feet, I walked behind them. I touched them simultaneously, stroking their soft, thick feathers. I marvelled at how glossy they were. My fingers touched where their wings connected with their skin and I trailed my fingers where feathers met flesh. A collective groan came from them. I moved away and walked back to face them. It was then I became aware of tears trailing down my cheeks.

“You’re both so beautiful. I… I have no words.”

I continued to gaze at them. They returned my gaze with expressions of utter adoration. Never before, or probably ever again, had I experienced such overwhelming feelings. Was it love? I had absolutely no idea, but I could never imagine being without these two gorgeous creatures by my side.

They moved towards me, their wings covering the three of us. It was like a cocoon. And even though the weather was bitterly cold, I was warm… more than warm.

“Come, let’s get you back inside.” Luca smiled and dropped a kiss on my forehead, followed by one from Salvatore.

Once back in the kitchen, they furled their wings inside their bodies. I had another question, but this one was definitely daft.

“You have that look on your face again, Angelina. Come on, don’t be shy. You can tell us anything.”

Damn Luca.

“I was wondering whether it hurt when your wings go in and out of your body.”

They chuckled, and my cheeks burned again. “I’m not going to ask anything else if you keep on teasing me.”

“Sorry, we didn’t mean to. Only, you’re so adorable when you blush.”

I threw Salvatore a look which was meant to show how angry I was. But damn them both again, I couldn’t do anything but smile in return.

“The answer to your question is no. It doesn’t hurt.”

“Okay.” I studied Salvatore closely. “Then I have another question. When we… if we um, mate, will I get wings, and will they be the same colour as my hair? Jesus, that really was a pathetic question.”

“Your wings will be as beautiful as your hair, when we mate.”

The possession and certainty in Luca’s declaration made it clear they already thought of me as their mate. It appeared that mating with them was the only choice I had. Deep down, I knew that I did belong to them. Yet there was a part of me which was fighting against it. Battling to keep some hold on my identity and not get swallowed whole by their love and devotion.

My eyes, yet again, were drawn to their perfect torsos. My body trembled with so many alien sensations that it became difficult for me to stand still for too long. The tension needed to be diffused before something happened that I wasn’t quite ready to deal with.

“Don’t you have anything to put on?” I asked in a breathy voice.

“Yes. Or would you rather carry on enjoying the view?” Luca teased me.

They snickered, the sound heading directly for my already swollen clit. The trickle of my arousal wetted the inside of my thighs. A low groan came from their direction. I forgot they could smell my scent.

“Would… would you mind covering up, please? I… oh, God,” I moaned.
