The Mrs. Degree (Accidentally in Love 2)

I love looking up at her on top of me with her tits in my face and hair falling in long, dark waves.
She adjusts herself, sinking onto my dick with a groan.
There’s nothing shy about her now. She places her hands on the headboard as her hips begin to move, leaving her completely in control.
“Do you like that?” she asks.
“Yes…”
She stops. “Do you like that?”
“No.”
Penelope laughs, leaning in to kiss me on the mouth and brushing her breasts against my chest. “I just wanted to tell you I forgot to pick up the refill on my birth control yesterday, so I didn’t start my pills until this morning.” Another kiss is placed on the tip of my nose as I begin thrusting into her.
She feels so fucking good.
So right.
I brush the hair out of her face to look at her. Really look at her. Flushed and beautiful, she’s young and full of life.
“Jack, did you hear me?”
I thrust. “Yeah, I heard you. I trust you.”
My hands go to her hips as we move together, the broken thermostat in this dumpy off-campus apartment I’m renting making the room so warm that sweat beads on my forehead.
A baby cries in the background, louder and louder until I shove her off me, and she lands on the bed beside me.
I kick off the remaining covers because I’m hot.
So hot.
“She’s fine,” Penelope says. “Let her cry.”
“Let who cry?”
There is no baby. We don’t have a baby.
Someone pounds on the wall of the apartment. “Shut that kid up!”
I wander through the apartment, naked, opening one door after another, a labyrinth of mazes I can’t find my way out of.
“Jack, come back!” Penelope calls my name.
The baby cries.
The neighbor bangs.
“Where is the fucking door to this place?” I shout, sweat dripping from my forehead and between my pec muscles. “WHERE IS THE FUCKING DOOR TO THIS PLACE?”
I shoot to a seated position in bed, gasping.
Breathe in, breathe out.
I remember that I’m in a hotel room in Illinois and not in my condo in Colorado.
Shit.
That dream felt so real. Well, most of it anyway.
It has me lying here a long while, doing the same damn thing I’ve been doing the past few weeks—staring wide-eyed at the ceiling with the game day looming only a few hours away.
Chapter 5
Penelope
I couldn’t sleep last night.
Obviously.
What woman in their right mind would be able to sleep knowing they just had dinner with the father of their child and didn’t tell him her secret? I didn’t tell Jack that he has a seven-year-old daughter who was sound asleep upstairs in the same house he was inside of just the day before. Jack Jennings is going to hate me when he finally hears the news.
I put a hoodie on Skipper before we exit the vehicle. The valet parking at the stadium was a convenience I hadn’t expected when I finally decided to use the tickets and bring her to the game.
Beside me, Skipper hops up and down with excitement as we approach the gate. It’s a VIP entrance I used when I went to my brother’s football games, and a pang of nostalgia hits me.
In the envelope with the tickets Jack had given me was a hand-written note instructing me to come to this gate. Go to the gate at the back of the stadium, not the main entrance. It’s chain link and slides, and there is a guard booth there. That is the private entrance if you want to use it. Someone will show you to your seats.
Well la-di-dah, Mr. Fancy Pants.
Skipper takes my hand as we follow a man wearing a security jacket and carrying a walkie-talkie down a sleek tunnel-like hallway.
What am I doing here?
The better question is, what am I doing here with my daughter?
The nerves don’t quit. They worsen during the announcements, Jack’s face, number, and stats on the Jumbotron as players are broadcasted and cheers echo.
Skipper covers her ears but wears a huge grin.
“Mom, this is so fun!”
It doesn’t take long before she’s eating a giant pretzel and dipping it in cheese, content to snack as her short little legs dangle over the edge of her stadium seat. Obviously, she has little interest in the actual game, but she is obsessed with the food, people watching, and everyone high-fiving her when the home team gets the ball, scores a touchdown, or makes an interception.
It is all so exciting for her, and our seats are fantastic.
We’re in the center of all the action, right where my daughter can see, hear, and practically taste the action. The players are right here in front of us like large giants on the sidelines. The presence of the media and staff just add to the thrill of her exciting day.
My eyes are glued to Jack Jennings as if it were my job to watch him.
