The guy glares at me before moving away slightly. He’s still directly below Anya.
“I said–”
Ethan steps between us. “Do you really want to start a fight?”
“Yes.”
The way Anya is dancing has tequila written all over it. She’s drunk and there is no way in hell I’m walking away without making sure she’s okay.
“Anya!”
When I yell her name, she pauses her gyrations. A goofy smile spreads over her face when she sees me.
“Law! I’m dancing!”
The guy looking up her skirt isn’t pleased that I’ve gotten her attention. “That’s my date!”
I point at Anya. “Not anymore. Get lost. The free show is over.”
He looks like he’s about to say something else but when Ethan crosses his arms, his shoulders sag. He moves away.
“Okay, Anya. It’s time to come down.”
She shakes her head. “We’re on a date! I’m supposed to be having fun.”
I move forward quickly, alarmed at how she’s swaying. After a bit more cajoling, she finally crawls to the edge of the speaker and then half rolls over the side.
“Shit. Hold on, baby.”
With Ethan’s help, we manage to get her down without breaking anything but not until after she flashes the entire club.
Ethan slams his eyes closed and turns his face in the other direction. “I didn’t see anything.”
Anya slaps my arm. “I’m allowed to have fun for once.”
“Yeah this is a barrel of laughs.”
She loses her footing and I have to bend over to keep her from hitting the floor. Before I can straighten someone grabs my ass. I look over my shoulder to see a guy walking by. He winks.
“Did I forget to mention Spectrum is a gay club?” Ethan yells.
“Yes. You did.”
Suddenly his questions about whether I’d been here before make a lot more sense.
He smiles. “This was worth coming out for.”
“You know what, I’m not even mad. I look damn good in this suit.”
“I’ll take your word for it.”

ANYA
He’s mad, I can tell.
Law doesn’t talk the whole way home. But he doesn’t have to. I know his mad face. His eyes crinkle at the corners and his dark eyes flash. It’s actually the hottest thing ever. Then I remember that he basically crashed my date and demanded I leave with him.
