He leaned over to kiss between my breasts. I tried to envision going on a trip with him. The destination didn’t matter. It’d be great to see more of Lorsan than was possible from the palace window.

With Kyllen’s mouth on me, however, focusing on that thought was getting harder by the minute.

He shifted down my body, trailing his kisses between my breasts, past my belly button and…lower.

“What are you doing?” I rose on my elbows.

He slid a sentie between my legs. Its tip brushed against the same spot he’d rubbed when he’d made love to me before. I gasped and whimpered from a sudden surge of pleasure. The sentie nibbled on it next, sending me back into the pillows with a moan of bliss.

Shifting lower still, Kyllen peppered the inside of my thigh with light, invigorating kisses. His breath hit between my legs, just before he…dragged his tongue between my folds.

“Did you just lick me?” I jerked up, gaping at him in shock. “Downthere?”

He lifted his head, his hands holding my thighs on his shoulders.

“Another first?” He flashed me a lopsided grin, a brow ridge arching gracefully.

Was it normal? Did people really lick each other? There?

“Is that… Who does that?” I mumbled.

“I do.” He kept grinning unapologetically. “I’m really good at it, too.”

Sticking his tongue out, he twirled the forked tip around the tight little bud at the apex of my thighs. My desire spiked, making me fist my hands in the sheets.

“Oh, Kyllen…” I exhaled with a moan.

It felt so incredibly good, I suddenly no longer cared what was “normal.”

One of his senties circled my opening, then worked its way inside me. It swirled against my inner walls just past the entrance as Kyllen’s tongue danced on the most sensitive part of me. I writhed with pleasure that rolled through my body in waves.

Pressure built low in my belly, coiling like a tightly-wound spring. With another twirl of his tongue, it unfurled, flooding me with ecstasy.

Kyllen held my hips, licking and nibbling, coaxing every last shudder of my orgasm out of me. Until I stilled in the sheets. Spent.

He chuckled, sliding up to my head on the pillows.

“I told you I was good.” He gave me a cocky smile.

Hooking one arm around his neck, I pulled him in for a kiss. He rolled to his side, taking me with him.

“You can say whatever you want, Kyllen, and I have no choice but to believe you,” I teased. “You’re my one and only. You know I have no other man to compare you to.”

“And that’s how it’s going to remain,” he said firmly. “There’ll be no other man, my sweet pea. You’re mine.” He took my chin in his fingers, staring at me through the veil. “Only mine.”

Goosebumps skittered down my arms at the intensity in his voice.

“Are you sure? Monogamy isn’t common at the High Lord’s court, is it?” I tested the waters to see where I stood with him and how deep I’d be sucked in before it was too late.

But maybe it was too late already? He already could break my heart in so many ways.

He rose over me, propped on his elbow. “Am I not enough for you, Amira? Do you want more?”

As confident as Kyllen was, when it came to me, he appeared to have his own insecurities.

I cupped his cheek. “You’re everything I could ever dream of, Kyllen. But…will I be enough for you? Life is long. Don’t fae get bored with just one partner?”

How many lovers did Lady Igaed have? And what about her husband? She’d said he had quite a few, too.

Kyllen’s features relaxed a little. “Oh, is that what it is? My little sweet pea doesn’t like sharing, either?”

I kept my eyes on his.

“What am I to you, Kyllen? What will I ever be?”

“What do you mean, Amira?” Sunny sparks still danced in his golden eyes, but the rest of his expression turned serious. “I made you a promise. You’ll always be with me.”

“But there really is no place for me, is there? There is no appropriate position for a human in Lorsan.”

“Then, I’ll make a position.” Grabbing my shoulders, he sat up in the nest, taking me with him. “Amira. No one forced me to make that promise to you. I made it because I wanted to. Fulfilling it is not a burden. I want you in my life, by my side. I need you…”

“But why? Just because I’m different?” I exhaled a humorless laugh.
