He shakes his head and looks back out at the ocean.
“Now?”
“Is it possible to be homesick after you’ve already returned?”
I grin and shrug. “I don’t see why not. You missed it. You just didn’t realize it at the time. When I went away to college, I couldn’t wait to get back home. I didn’t understand why anyone would want to live away from the ocean.”
“I hear you,” he says. “Maybe that’s one of the things that I loved about Monaco. I was still on the water.”
He reaches over and takes my hand, pulling it to his lips.
“So, this is a small car,” I notice, glancing around. “Can you put that seat back farther?”
“I think so.” He reaches down to his left, and the seat moves, stopping about six inches back. “What did you have in mind?”
“Well, it seems like a waste to come out to make out point and not make out.” I squeal as Wolfe pulls me onto his lap. I move up to straddle him, fitting snuggly between his hard abs and the steering wheel.
“You can’t see the sunset facing this way,” he whispers, making me smile.
“It’s okay. I’ve seen a lot of those.” I brush my fingers through his thick, brown hair before leaning over and covering his mouth with mine. The kiss starts slow but quickly escalates, turning into molten lust.
“Fucking hell,” he mutters as he shifts and pushes my hair back over my shoulder.
He’s warm and hard and smells like pure sin as I begin grinding my core against him. I can feel his hard length straining against his jeans, pressing against my white cropped pants.
He kisses my neck as his hand pushes under my blouse. I bite my lip, still tasting him there. I lose myself so quickly with this man and without hesitation. I instinctively trust him, and I want him with everything in me.
I grind down on him, and he mutters a curse before finding my mouth once more, his fingers flicking over my sensitive nipple through my bra.
“I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want you,” he growls. “That’s not a line, Luna. God, I fucking crave you.”
“Same,” is all I can say before I frame his face with my hands and kiss him again, needing his mouth on mine. His lips skillfully move against mine, tasting and savoring, and our bodies move in a dance as old as time. “Too many clothes.”
“Shit, babe,” is all he says before I hear a loud whoop and surface to see flashing lights behind us.
“Uh, Wolfe?”
“Fuck.” He helps me untangle myself and moves me over to the passenger seat just as Sheriff Daniels saunters over to the driver’s side window.
His old eyes light with humor when he sees who we are.
“I should have known it was Wolfe Conrad,” he says with a grin. “Hello, Luna.”
“Hi.” I smile, but I know my face is bright red with embarrassment.
“Can I send you a case of Jack Daniels and call it a day?” Wolfe asks.
“You always were a smartass,” Sheriff says, but his tone is jovial as he takes in the Ferrari. “This is a honey of a car you’ve got here. I guess it would be a waste not to bring a pretty girl to this spot in it. Not that she doesn’t have a great spot of her own, just down the road a ways.”
I cringe and then resign myself to being permanently embarrassed.
This news will spread through Huckleberry Bay like wildfire.
“You might want to take this little party down there,” he advises and then starts to back up. “Happy to have you home, Wolfe. Stay out of trouble.”
The sheriff winks at me, and then he’s back in his cruiser and pulling away.
I let out a breath as Wolfe laughs beside me. “You should see your face.”
“I can honestly say that was a first for me.”
I look over at him and narrow my eyes. “But it wasn’t for you.”
“Everyone should get caught at make out point at least once in their lives,” he says as he starts the car. “It builds character.”
“Right. That’s why my face is bright red.”
He laughs and drives me down the highway to our turnoff and then to my house.
“Would you like to come in?” I ask.
“Yeah.” He reaches for my hand again and then kisses my knuckles as he looks over at me. “I would like that.”
I grin and move to open the door, but he stops me, so I wait for him to cross to my side of the car and open it for me.
“You’re a gentleman.”
He just smiles as I lead him to the door, but as soon as we walk inside, I know that any thoughts of sexy time tonight are completely blown.
“Sarah?”
My friend is curled up in the corner of the couch, crying her eyes out.
I turn back to Wolfe and offer him an apologetic smile. “I think I have to handle this.”
