It was meant to be. We were meant to be.

I just hope she understands that. I just hope I can show her that.

My fingers are tingling and my nerve endings are on fire as I go to her and carefully slide my arms under her delicate body.

She moans and shifts as I pick her up, holding her to my chest like she’s the most precious thing in the world because to me, she is.

Her eyes stay closed, but a smile lights up her face as she turns her head toward me. My heart feels like it’s going to explode as I look down at her happy peaceful face.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt like this before.

How can I let this girl go? I can’t. I have to have her. All of her.

Fuck, I’m already becoming obsessed. I can feel it growing within me, taking me over one cell at a time.

With her intoxicating smell tickling my nostrils, I bring her into my room and carefully lay her onto my bed. She lets out a moan as I slowly pull out my arms from under her.

I’m not going to touch her until she’s asking me to, until she’s begging me to, but I can’t resist touching her skin just once.

I slowly lean down and press my lips to her forehead. I give her a gentle kiss and when I stand back up, she’s got a big smile on her face.

And just like that, I’m already in love.

Chapter Five

Lily

My ankle feels worse than ever when I wake up in the morning. Every movement is excruciating as I push myself up to a seated position.

I gasp and my eyes fly open when I realize that I’m laying in Jayden’s bed. That explains the dirty dreams I had all night.

I glance at the open door and then stealthy bring his sheets up to my nose and breathe in his rich masculine scent. Oh yeah. It’s like breathing in a big fat bowl of happiness.

I’m already wet when I wake up. My pussy is burning.

I stare at the door as my hand slides down my stomach. I need some relief so badly. Just as I reach my throbbing clit, a loud crack rips through the room and I jerk my hand back up with a gasp.

What the hell, Lily?!? You weren’t just about to do that in a strange man’s bed, were you?

What has gotten into me?

Another loud crack hits the room and then it’s constant, one coming from outside every twenty seconds or so like a gunshot ringing through the forest. At first, it has me on edge until I remember that Jayden said he needed firewood and he’s probably making it right now.

With a grunt, I swing my swollen ankle off of the bed and slowly get up to my feet. I lean on the wall, taking as much weight off of it as I can, and awkwardly shimmy my way into the kitchen. I smell something delicious that he cooked. Sausage and bacon maybe?

Holy….

I forget all about the breakfast when I see Jayden in the back chopping firewood. Shirtless.

My mouth falls open in disbelief, in delight, in desire, when I see him standing in the snow swinging the ax over his head. He brings it down hard on the log, splitting it as every hard muscle in his gorgeous body flexes.

“What a view,” I mutter to myself as I ignore the spectacular mountains behind him in the distance. My lust-filled eyes roam over his massive chest and sculpted arms. His abs are shredded and seem to continue down forever into his jogging pants that are hanging ridiculously low on his hips. His hard pelvis is showing and if I crane my head to the side just far enough, I can see the tip of his pubic hair.

The huge log he was carrying on his shoulder yesterday is on the ground beside him. I stare at in disbelief. No way he carried that log all the way from my cabin.

But he did.

He’s even stronger than he looks.

I’m watching him line up another piece of wood on the chopping block and admiring the way the side of his back muscles look when he reaches down, when all of a sudden, his eyes dart to mine.

I drop down with a gasp and grimace as I hide behind the counter, hoping he didn’t see me gawking at him like a creepy perv.

Suddenly, the door opens and he steps in. He sees me crouching down on the kitchen floor and subtly tilts his head.

“Are you okay?” he asks, looking at me funny. “Are you looking for something down there?”

I quickly stand up and desperately look around for an excuse. “I was just looking for…” I spot the cooked breakfast on the stove. “…your sausage.”

His eyebrow raises slightly and I realize what I just said. “I mean, your breakfast. My breakfast! I wanted to eat your sausage, I mean my sausage. Not that I have a sausage… You know what I mean.”
